Are you an experienced project management professional with a passion for sustainability and health? The Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), in partnership with Ghent University, has announced a prestigious job opportunity for a Project Manager under the Afya Moja Project.
This “One Health” initiative is a VLIR-UOS cooperation program focused on integrating coastal integrity, coastal communities, and marine ecosystems. This is a rare opportunity to secure a 5-year contract based in Mombasa, working on a high-impact project funded by the European Union.

TUM PROJECT MANAGER RECRUITMENT ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for this high-level position, applicants must demonstrate a strong professional background and specific technical skills. The Technical University of Mombasa is looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial and operational management of EU-funded projects.
- A Project Management Certification is mandatory (Required).
- Key Skills:
- Ability to coordinate a Project Support Unit (PSU).
- Expertise in budgeting, financial compliance, and reporting.
- Proficiency in managing procurement workflows and documentation.
- Experience in supporting audits and implementing recommendations.
- Strong skills in proposal writing and planning.
Field of Study
To be considered, candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in one of the following (or related) fields:
- Project Management
- Finance
- Accounting
- Public Health
- Environmental Management
- Development Studies
Note: If your degree was obtained from a foreign university, Commission for University Education (CUE) recognition is mandatory.
Remuneration (Salary & Benefits)
This position offers a highly competitive compensation package, making it one of the most attractive NGO/University vacancies currently available in the region.
- Gross Salary:Â KES 200,000 per month.
- Gratuity: 31% of the monthly basic salary (payable at the end of the contract period).
- Contract Duration:Â 5 Years.
