GCTU 35TH GRADUATION LIST FOR 2025

The moment of celebration has arrived for the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) community! The University management is pleased to invite faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public to the 35th Congregation Ceremony.

This prestigious event is set to honor the hard work, resilience, and academic success of the Class of 2025. Whether you are a graduand, a proud parent, or a friend of the university, this ceremony marks a significant milestone. The event is scheduled for Saturday, 29th November 2025, at the main campus.

Below is everything you need to know about the event, from the graduation list to the dress code.

Examination Results

Before the celebration begins, the academic journey must be fully completed. The congregation is strictly for students who have successfully satisfied all academic requirements of the university.

If your name appears on the provisional list, it confirms that you have passed your required examinations and coursework for the 2024/2025 academic calendar. Students with outstanding academic issues or missing grades are advised to contact their respective heads of department immediately.

The most anticipated document is finally available. The University has released the Provisional List of Graduands for the 35th Congregation.

Verification of Academic Records and Order of Names

Your name is your brand. It is the responsibility of every graduand to ensure their details are captured correctly.

• Check the Spelling: Ensure your name is spelled exactly as it should appear on your certificate.
• Order of Names: The order in which names appear on the Graduation List is usually how they will be printed on the final certificate.
• Corrections: If you spot an error in the provisional list linked above, contact the Academic Registrar’s office immediately for rectification before the final booklets are printed.

Clearance & Fees

To walk the stage and receive your certificate, you must be in good standing with the university.

• Financial Clearance: Ensure all tuition fees and graduation fees are fully paid.
• General Clearance: Graduands are typically required to clear with the Library, Hostel, and Sports directorate. Failure to clear outstanding balances will result in the withholding of your certificate and exclusion from the final list.

Rehearsal

While the main event is on Saturday, rehearsals are a standard and crucial part of the GCTU graduation protocol.

• Rehearsals ensure that the procession, seating arrangements, and conferment of degrees run smoothly.
• Please keep an eye on your student portal or notice board for the specific rehearsal schedule (usually held the day before the event).

Academic Attire

This is a formal academic procession.

• Graduands: Must be dressed in the official GCTU academic gown, hood, and cap appropriate for their degree level.
• Dress Code: As indicated on the invitation, the general dress code for the event is Formal. Graduands should wear formal attire underneath their gowns to maintain the dignity of the occasion.

Punctuality

Time management is essential for a smooth ceremony.

• Start Time: The event begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
• Venue: Forecourt of the University (Main Campus).

Graduands and guests are strongly advised to arrive early (by 7:30 a.m.) to get seated before the procession begins. Latecomers may be denied entry into the main graduation square.

Picking of Certificates

The ultimate reward for your years of study is the certificate.

• Certificates are typically issued after the ceremony.
• You must have returned your hired academic gown in good condition and completed your clearance process to collect your certificate.
