Application for the Higher Education Loans Board, HELB Salaried Students Loans for Kenyan Students – 2023/2024 Entry is now open for the New academic Session.
Are you an employed Kenyan? Get up to Kshs. 600,000 loan to pursue your studies at a university of your choice in Kenya through the Higher Education Loans Board [HELB]. HELB offers loans to Kenyan Employees pursing Bachelors, Masters or PhD degrees in Kenyan Universities. The loans are awarded yearly and paid directly to the University as described below:

The minimum loan award is Kshs. 50, 000.
Repayment
Repayment is due 1 month after disbursement through monthly check-off system from your employer’s payroll for a maximum period of 48 months (4 years).
Applicable interest is 12% per year and an annual ledger fee of Kshs. 1,000
HELB SALARIED STUDENTS LOANS ELIGIBILITY
Scholars are selected on the following criteria:
- Admission letter from a recognized university in Kenya
- Certified copy of your last acquired academic certificate (certified by a commissioner of oaths)
- A copy of 3 months latest pay slips with a minimum basic pay of Kshs. 23,000 per month (certified by your employer)
- If you are employed on contract, please provide copy of appointment letter of not less than two years (certified by your employer)
- Certified copy of your national ID (certified by a commissioner of oaths)
- Certified copy of your KRA PIN (certified by a commissioner of oaths)
- Certified copy of national ID from two employed guarantors (certified by a commissioner of oaths)
- Recent coloured passport size photograph of yourself
