For admission into programmes of study at the Institute of Advanced Technology, IAT for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.
INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
To join Institute of Advanced Technology, IAT to pursue a Certificate course, you must have a minimum of C- with specific qualifications in cluster subjects in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE). For Diploma programmes, you must have attained a minimum of C with specific qualifications in cluster subjects.
General admission requirements
Admission requirements for our diplomas, certificate and diploma courses
- KCSE result slip / Certificate or equivalent
- Two (2) colored passport size photographs
- Copy of national ID, Passport or birth certificate
Course – Specific Admission Requirements
- Mean grade of C in KCSE
- KCE Division III OR
- Relevant certificate qualification from a recognized institution
- KCSE aggregate of C & C – or above in Math & English.
- Any other qualification approved by IAT Academic Board
- Mean grade of C in KCSE and C – or above in Mathematics and English.
- Have worked for a period not less one year after High School
- Any other qualification approved by IAT Academic Board.
- C- in KCSE with C or above in English and Math or
- Credit pass in stage 1 (CBICT) or
- Work experience for a period not less than one year
- Any other qualification approved by IAT academic board
- An aggregate grade of D+ (D PLUS) in K.C.S.E. and D in Mathematics
- Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the IAT academic board.
- An aggregate grade of D+ (D PLUS) in K.C.S.E. and D in Mathematics
Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the IAT academic board.
KNEC – DIPLOMA PROGRAMS
Trainee entering this course should have any of the following minimum requirements:
- Passed relevant Craft course in Business Management OR
- Passed Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average of C-
- Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
KNEC – CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
To be eligible for the admission into the Craft Certificate in Business Management, a candidate must satisfy any ONE of the following academic qualifications:
- A pass in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average of D (plain) OR
- Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
