1. Access the KUCCPS Student Portal

• Open your browser and visit students.kuccps.net.
• Applicants applying to the Open University of Kenya (OUK) should use ouk.kuccps.net/login/.

2. Enter Login Credentials

On the login page, fill in the following details correctly:

• KCSE INDEX NUMBER: Enter your KCSE Index Number exactly as used during KCSE registration.
• KCSE YEAR: Enter the 4-digit KCSE examination year (Example: 2025).
• PASSWORD:
  • Use either:
    • Your Birth Certificate Number, OR
    • Your KCPE Index Number used during KCSE registration.

3. Log In

• Click the LOG IN button to proceed to your KUCCPS dashboard.

4. First-Time Users

• If this is your first login, use the initial password stated above.
• After successfully logging in, applicants may be prompted to change their password for account security.
• Applicants are advised to use a strong but memorable password.

5. Download Programme Lists

• After login, click on Programme Lists to download:
  • Degree Programme Lists
  • TVET Programme Lists
  • Cluster Documents
  • Previous Cut-off Points

This helps applicants make informed programme selections before submitting applications.

6. Select Your Preferred Programmes

• Applicants applying for degree programmes can select up to 6 choices.
• TVET applicants can select up to 4 choices.
• The choices are structured as:
  • 1a – First preferred university/course
  • 1b – Alternative university for the same course
  • 1c – Another alternative university for the same course

Important: Choices 1a, 1b and 1c are not three different courses. They represent the same course offered at different institutions.

7. Submit Application and Pay

• Initial application fee: KSh 1,500.
• Revision fee: KSh 1,000.
• All payments must be made through the official eCitizen Portal.
• After successful payment, applicants will receive an SMS confirmation message.

8. Important Payment Clarification

• Do not confuse the M-Pesa Transaction Code with the eCitizen Reference Code.
• The code required by KUCCPS during submission is the eCitizen Reference Code.
• Entering the M-Pesa transaction code instead of the eCitizen reference code may cause submission failure.
• Applicants can confirm payment status by dialling *222# and selecting Option 6 (Check Payment).

9. 2026 KUCCPS Application Deadlines

• Application Opening Date: 7 April 2026
• Initial Application Deadline: 6 May 2026
• Second Revision/Application Window: 16 May 2026 – 22 May 2026
• Final Deadline for Degree and KMTC Applications: 22 May 2026

10. Troubleshooting & Tips

Formatting Errors:

• Ensure the KCSE year is entered correctly in 4-digit format.
• Double-check your KCSE Index Number before submitting.

Password Issues:

• If you forget your password after changing it, contact KUCCPS support or visit the nearest support centre.

Programme Selection:

• Use the BACK TO PROGRAMMES option to review and edit your choices before submission.
