Application for the Masinde Muliro University, MMUST Talent Scholarship for Kenyan Students – 2022/2023 Entry is now open for Kenyan Students in at Masinde Muliro University in Kenya.

Students from the Masinde Muliro University are invited to apply for scholarships to pursue the Talent Scholarship at MKSU.

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology wishes to extend partial tuition scholarships for talented young men and women in Sports and Performing Arts. This will accord the beneficiaries an opportunity to further their studies while they continue with their talent development.
Applications are invited in the following areas:-

  • Handball (Men &Women)
  • Hockey (Men & Women)
  • Volleyball (Men & Women)
  • Soccer (Men &Women)
  • Netball (Women)
  • Music (Men & Women)
  • Theater Arts (Men & Women)
  • Basketball (Men &Women)
  • Athletics (Men & Women)
  • Rugby (Men)

The University was founded through Harambee spirit on 5th January, 1972, as Western College of Arts and Applied Sciences (WECO) under the stewardship of .the former fiery MP, Masinde Muliro. The establishment of the College was in response to the needs of the people of Western province to have a College which would provide a training ground for technical manpower requirements for the province and the nation. The College was also expected to inculcate a sense of self-help and self-reliance among its students and facilitate active participation of youth in national development

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

MMUST TALENT SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • At least C+ in KCSE or C plain and a relevant Diploma recognized by the University Senate for bachelors courses
  • At least C- in KCSE for Diploma Courses or any other qualification recognized by the University Senate.
  • Must apply for a course offered at Masinde Muliro University of science and Technology or be a continuing student
  • Must have demonstrated excellent performance in specified talent areas at National and International Level
  • Must be 22 years and below for degree applicants and 23 years or below for diploma applicants(Age limit not applicable to Drama & Music)
  • Applicants from needy backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.

MMUST TALENT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Interested students are requested to download the Talent Scholarship Application Form from the University website, fill it and submit it to the Dean of Students office within the set timelines

Application must include:

  • Copy of letter of admission to MMUST or course application acknowledgment
  • Copy of national ID card or birth certificate.
  • Only applications that have been submitted (with the International Office and registered on the website of the scholarship) on or before 9th August 2019 will be considered.
