VACANT POSITIONS, ROLES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS AT REREC
The Corporation is looking for highly experienced, motivated and results oriented individuals to fill vacancies in the organization. The applicants must be self-driven individuals who are focused and committed to driving the Corporation towards achieving its mandate. They will work with their departmental teams in spearheading/embracing innovations, work ethics and must possess high level of integrity.

1. ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL), GRADE REREC 6 (1 POST)
Job Specifications
- Developing strategies for the Operation and Management of solar, wind and other renewable energy sources implemented and managed by REREC;
- Ensuring the management of the facilities, generation plants & networks, and installation of substations is undertaken according to industry best practices;
- Developing and implementing Directorate plans, policies, norms and procedures in accordance with the REREC Mandate;
- Providing advisory to management on all matters relating to the operation and maintenance of renewable energy projects in operation;
- Coordinating the Operation and Management of renewable energy projects implemented by REREC as per the strategic Plan;
- Planning and managing resource requirements for the Department and monitoring their optimal usage;
- Scheduling and implementing of preventive maintenance and planned maintenance for the renewable energy generation plants and networks;
- Providing daily monitoring reports to the management;
- Providing forecasting report for operating RE sources on daily, weekly and monthly;
- Providing dispatch schedule for renewable energy plants; and
- Providing daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports on renewable energy projects.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
- Bachelors degree Electrical Engineering, from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Registered as a graduate engineer; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
2. ENGINEER (ENERGY FORECASTER), GRADE REREC 6 (1 POST)
Job Specifications

3. TECHNICIAN (STATION OPERATOR), GRADE REREC 8 (2 POSTS)
Job Specifications
- Managing the facilities, generation plants & networks, and installation of substations is undertaken according to industry best practices;
- Implementing Directorate plans, policies, norms and procedures in accordance with the REREC Mandate;
- Operating and Managing renewable energy projects implemented by REREC;
- Implementing preventive maintenance and planned maintenance for the renewable energy generation plants and networks;
- Preparing daily monitoring reports to the management; and
- Preparing daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports on renewable energy projects.

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Minimum KCSE C- (Minus) or its equivalent;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and

4. TECHNICIAN (WATER TREATMENT), GRADE REREC 8 (1 POST)

6. SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (STORE KEEPER – GARISSA),
GRADE REREC 8 (1 POST)

Job Specifications
Receiving Functions
- Receiving materials, examine condition and completeness;
- Using computer systems to confirm the correct supplies;
- Confirming all receiving documents; Bill of lading, packing list, delivery note etc.;
- Determining space requirement and position of the material;
- Generating Goods Received Notes (GRN)
- Capturing and processing stores data;
- Complying with Procurement Act;
- Preparing requisitions for stocks replenishment;
- Monitoring the movement of stores;
- Preparing daily and weekly receiving reports; and
- Stock verification and reconciliation of records.
Stock controls Functions
- Verification of physical stocks and comparing them with the system balances and record the position;
- Monitoring stock levels and report replenishment requirements;
- Filling all the stock documents;
- Preparing daily and weekly reports; and
- Complying with Procurement Act.
Issuing Functions
- Confirming authorization of requisitions and contractors;
- Determining the vehicle capacity according to weight limits before loading;
- Issuing stores;
- Sorting, dispatching and filing documents;
- Capturing and processing stores data;
- Complying with Procurement Act;
- Monitoring the movement of stores;
- Preparing daily and weekly issuing reports; and
- Stock verification and reconciliation of records.
Dispatch Functions
- Confirming that the authorized person is the one signing out for the materials;
- Preparing the gate pass;
- Coordinating authorization of the gate pass;
- Filing all the dispatch documents; and
- Complying with Procurement Act.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-
- Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Administration, or other relevant field from a recognized institution;
- Membership to a professional body either KISM or CIPS; and in good standing;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
