UBTEB Results 2022 is Out

We are pleased to announce to you that the UBTEB Result for July/August 2022 is out and we have also outlined the steps on how to check.

UBTEB

This is to inform all the candidates that participated in the July/August 2022 Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) Examination that they can now check their results online.

According to the statistics of registered candidates for the July/August 2022 UBTEB examinations:

  • Registered = 39,036 Female – 12,318 Male – 26,718
  • Absent = 2,095 Female – 684 Male – 1,411
  • Sat for Examinations = 36,941 Female – 11,634 Male – 25,307

𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐔𝐁𝐓𝐄𝐁 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 -Total of 36,941 (41 candidates with special needs). 1.) Acquired all Competencies = 28,050 (Female –8,948, Male –19,102). 2.) Did not acquire all Competencies = 8,892 (Female –2,687, Male –6,205).

According to the State Minister for Higher Education, Hon. J.C Muyingo, in a statement, he said, for this particular UBTEB result release, 28,050 trainees have acquired competencies in the various occupations and 32% (8,948) are females. Results for 28 candidates have been canceled due to involvement in examination malpractices.

He went further to say that the demand for the 21st century skills calls for innovativeness and research in order to deliver Quality TVET that contributes towards the production of competent Technicians and Artisans that can contribute to the social economic transformation & national development

Additionally the other statistics involve the one for Technical Higher Diploma Programmes Results are stated below:

  • This category of programmes presents few upgrading candidates.
  • This year out of the 183 candidates who registered, 157 (86%) turned up for examinations.
  • Ninety nine percent of those who sat acquired the competencies required of their respective programmes compared to 81% in 2020.
  • Candidates scoring Distinction improved from 0% in 2020 to 4% in 2022.
  • All the 28 candidates that sat for Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering acquired the expected competencies with completion rate of 100%.
  • The general turn up rate for examinations improved from 67% in 2020 to 86% in 2022.

For the Technical National Diploma Programmes Results

  • The competency acquisition rate for this candidate was very good at 81%.
  • All the 7 candidates who pursued Diploma in Ceramics Engineering and 6 of Diploma in Interior Design acquired the expected competencies with completion rate of 100%.
  • The general turn up rate for examinations improved from 74% in 2020 to 80% in 2022. The rate of candidates who scored Distinction this year improved from 1% in 2020 to 45% in 2022.

For Business Diploma Programmes Results:

  • The performance of candidates was above average, and it declined by 2% from 75% in 2020 to 73% this year. The turn up rate declined by 7% from 84 in 2020 to 77% in 2022.
  • Most of the programmes are being pursued by a very small number of candidates. This cannot be attributed yet to any cause, but the research department will investigation.
  • The number of candidates who scored Distinction improved from 10% in 2020 to 16% this year. This is a sign of improved quality of training delivery and assessment.

For Business Certificate Programmes Results;

  • Candidates in this category of programmes exhibited very good mastery of skills with 88% general rate of skills acquisition. This is a 15% improvement from 73% in 2020 to 88% in 2022.
  • Number of candidates that sat improved by 6% from 83% in May/June 2020 to 89% in 2022.

For Physical & Biological Sciences Diploma Programmes Results:

  • The skills acquisition rate for this category of candidates was generally very good. On average, over 80% of the candidates in each programme acquired competencies.
  • The turn up for examinations improved by 9% from 80% in 2020 to 89% in 2022.
  • The general competency acquisition stands at 83% which is a 12% improvement from 72% in 2020.

The results printed from the online system are provisional and will be subject to final confirmation by the Board.
