The application for the Baker Hughes Bursary for the academic year 2022/2023 is now open by Baker Hughes for all South Africans in South Africa.
The Baker Hughes hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2022/2023 Bursary. The Baker Hughes has set-up a tertiary bursary fund to bolster capacity, expertise and work opportunities related to the finance sector. It is intended for tertiary students in the undergraduate level. BAKER HUGHES has allocated a bursary fund specifically for the fields of Journalism, Politics and Media related studies ONLY, due to a lack of skills and expertise in the Muslim community in these fields.

BAKER HUGHES BURSARY APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
- Undergraduate and postgraduate (up to Honours degree only) students who are currently registered at one of the 26 South African public universities
- Candidates must have 2022 outstanding student debt only (no debt from previous years)
- South African citizens
- Second to final year students (no first-year students)
- Students must not be beneficiaries of NSFAS or any other bursary
- Students with family household income under R600 000 per annum*
- *Note: Baker Hughes employees and their children are exempt from the family household income criteria
- Students in the following fields of study
- Engineering (electrical, mechanical and mining)
- Information Technology
- Law
- Sales and Marketing
- Supply & Logistics
- If you are a student with a disability please include a medical letter stating the nature of your disability

Please note you will need to ensure all the below documents are accessible on the device (cellphone, laptop, tablet, etc.) you will be using to apply, as you will only be able to complete the application form in one sitting.
- Academic transcripts (Academic records from 1st year until end of 2021)
- An official fee statement not older than 30 days on the university letterhead and/or stamped (Proof of Registration and Fee Quotations will NOT be accepted as a fee statement)
- Proof of Registration for 2024 academic year
- A clear copy of your ID, certified and not older than 6 months*
- *Note: ID card copy to include both sides of card
- The ID number of your guardian/parent/spouse (This allows us to verify the combined family household income. Only the ID number is needed)
- A motivation letter answering the questions “How would you describe your personal brand?” and “What makes your future worth investing in?” (1200 characters max)
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
- Completed applications need to be submitted on or before 31st July 2022. Late applications will not be considered.
