We are pleased to announce that the application for the 2024 Samancor Chrome Engineering Bursary Scheme is now open.

Samancor Chrome is thrilled to announce its Bursary Scheme in Mining and Mechanical Engineering for the 2023 intake. We are looking for bright, ambitious young minds to join our progressive company, and we invite applications from talented individuals at our Western Chrome Mines Business Unit.

Samancor Chrome, a front-running company operating with two Mining and six Smelting complexes, prides itself on fostering talent and advancing the industry. Our Bursary Scheme is aimed at providing the platform necessary for young individuals to grow and thrive in their chosen fields.

Eligibility

To be considered for our Bursary Scheme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• You are a talented Grade 12 learner with provisional university admittance or are completing your 1st – 3rd year of study at a reputable and recognised South African University.
• You are applying for a degree in either Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Application Procedure

To apply for the Bursary Scheme, kindly adhere to the following instructions:

1. Complete your application. Note that incomplete applications will not be considered.
2. Ensure that you answer all the questions and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your application will not be considered if you do not submit proof of your academic results and full details of your academic record.
4. Include a Curriculum Vitae (CV) with the following information:
   • Personal details
   • School / University contact details
   • Extracurricular Activities at School / University for the past four years
   • Special Achievements at School and/or University for the past four years
   • Briefly explain why you have chosen to pursue your intended career (not more than a 100 words)
5. Attach the following to your application:
   • Curriculum Vitae
   • Copy of your ID
   • Grade 10, 11 and 12 academic results
   • University academic results (if applicable)
   • Proof of provisional university acceptance (if applicable)
