Welcome to the Central University of Technology (CUT) Current Student webpage, the home of all South African and International students. It is the home for all students studying towards a degree at the University. It’s a community where you meet like-minded people who might have an interest that matches yours.

The CUT Current Student webpage gives regular updates on programmes on campus, services like Assessment and Graduation Unit, Careers Office, Fees, Bursaries and Loans, Governance and Student Life, Library, Sport, Residences, Wellness Centre | Counselling, Medical Clinic, Work Integrated Learning and Skills Development (WIL). Aside from all these, you can get regular information on examination release schedules, marks and timetables.

WHO CAN USE THE CUT CURRENT STUDENT WEBPAGE?

  • First year students
  • Continuing/Returning Students
  • Postgraduate students

HOW TO ACCESS/LOGIN TO THE CUT CURRENT STUDENT WEBPAGE

  1. Open your internet browser e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.
  2. Go to https://www.cut.ac.za/current-students
  3. From the Current Students page, download and read the Setup username password email Guide (PDF) — this contains your initial student number and temporary password needed to activate your account.
  4. Proceed to the Secure Login Hub at https://www.cut.ac.za/secure-login — this is the official single sign-on page that gives you access to all CUT student systems.
  5. Enter your student number and your CUT password to log in. On your first login, you will be prompted to change your temporary password immediately.
  6. Once logged in, select the academic service you need from the dashboard:
    • Student Connect+ — for personal details, timetables, results, and student administration.
    • eThuto — CUT’s official e-Learning platform for course materials, assignments, and lecture resources. Uses the same username and password as the main student portal.
    • CUT i-Enabler — for enrolment-related functions and enrolment data access.

Important for 2026: Your ability to access these portals is linked to your financial and registration status. If you have an outstanding fee, a hold will be placed on your account, and you will be denied access to key services regardless of whether your credentials are correct. Download and review the 2026 Financial Guideline (PDF) at cms.cut.ac.za and check official registration dates and deadlines at www.cut.ac.za/events/details/278.

How to reset your forgotten password: Visit the Ask CUT support portal at askcut.cut.ac.za and search for “password reset” under the login credentials category for the official step-by-step instructions.
