Basically, the South Africa grading system is the process by which educators or institutions evaluate the performance of the students in exams on the standard particular scales which is based on the points entirely and consist of the grades like A-F or range like 1-10. In other words, letters and numbers are used to describe the grades of scholars.
The grading system ensures consistency and fairness in the assessment of learning, and in the assignment of scores.
HIGHER EDUCATION GRADING SYSTEM
Unlike in secondary education, bachelor’s degrees and bachelor honours degrees are classified as follows:

A grade system of 1 to 7 is used in secondary education. These grades are found on the National Senior Certificate (NSC) with the following percentages and descriptions:
