The Ithute platform forms part of SMU’s commitment to future-ready health sciences education by providing a secure and interactive digital learning environment for both students and lecturers. Through the system, lecturers can upload course outlines, lecture notes, PowerPoint presentations, recommended reading materials, journals, videos, discussion forums, assignments, and assessments to support continuous academic learning.

STEPS ON HOW TO ACCESS AND ENROLL FOR THE SMU BLACKBOARD PORTAL SYSTEM
The following is a guide on how to access the SMU Ithute Blackboard System in 2026.
- Open Your Web Browser:
