Stellenbosch University Registration Dates and Deadline for 2025

Universiteit Stellenbosch, SUN Application Status – 2021 Admission

The management of the Stellenbosch University (SU) has opened the student registration portal for freshmen and continuing students to register their courses for the semester, both at the diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Specific dates and deadlines have been set for registration as well as the closure of the registration portal. It is advisable to register early in order not to lose your studentship at SU as late registration will not be permitted.

The registration deadline, or “closing date,” is always a registration submission timeline that is set by the institution for registering courses and modules for the semester. South African schools (universities and colleges) usually have their submission deadline within 2 weeks to 1 month after the student registration portal is opened.

Therefore, it is expected that all SU students (both new and old) meet the stated registration timeline as stated below to be on the safe side.

STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY (SU) REGISTRATION TIMELINES AND DEADLINE

Applicants are required to take note of the registration dates below:

General Dates

  • 13 January 2025: Start of online registration for senior undergraduate (excluding transferring students) and postgraduate students
  • 23 January 2025: Start of online registration for newcomer first-year students
  • 27 January – 31 January 2025: On-campus assisted registration for senior students (including transferring students) on Stellenbosch Campus, as per the registration schedule below
  • 3 – 4 February 2025: On-campus assisted registration of newcomer first-years (excluding transferring students) on Stellenbosch Campus, as per the registration schedule below
  • 4 – 6 February 2025: On-campus extended assisted registration for senior students (including transferring students) on Stellenbosch Campus, as per the registration schedule below
  • 6 February 2025: Conclusion of registration for all students (excluding M and D students. Although 27 March 2025 is the final registration day for newcomer M and D students, some structured M programmes may have earlier registration dates. Students must confirm with their programme coordinators.)
  • 7 February 2025: Module amendments for the faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Economic and Management Sciences and Engineering
  • 10 February 2025: Start of academic year
  • 21 February 2025: Final day for module/programme amendments, as well as late registration of undergraduate and postgraduate students (including continuing M and D students, but excluding newcomer M and D students whose final registration day is 27 March 2025.)
  • 27 March 2025: Final registration day for newcomer M and D students. (Earlier registration dates may apply to some structured M programmes. Students must confirm with their programme coordinators)

Registration will close on 9 February for all students, excluding Master’s and Doctorate students
