Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK) seeks to build and sharpen researchers by equipping learners with research competence needed in academia and development work. The objectives of International Research Internship is to:
- Demonstrate research knowledge and skills in health and development systems.
- Examine multiple intervention program designs and evaluation issues in health and development
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills essential for competitive grantsmanship and grants management
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in networking and partnerships with local, national research teams and international decision-makers.
The Internship Programme offers graduates opportunities to enhance skills and gain meaningful workplace experience to complement their studies.

INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIPS AND ATTACHMENT ELIGIBILITY & COST
Post-graduate (minimum ongoing or completed post-graduate degree) in health sciences, public health, community health, epidemiology or other related disciplines.
- Focus on health systems, public or community health research.
- Interest in international collaboration and working with decision makers.
- Committed to long-term research in policy and practice engagement and providing tangible benefits to home institution/ country.
COST
- Local applicants : Kenyan shillings 60,000 (Includes: lunch , refreshments, all sessions, course materials).
- International participants from outside Kenya: USD 600 (Includes: lunch, refreshments, airport shuttle, all sessions course materials).
PLEASE NOTE: Travel costs to Kisumu (Flights, Road, Rail), Health insurance cover, Dinners and Week-end meals are included in the program for the fee quoted above.
