REQUIREMENTS

a) Requirements for the position of full-time academic staff at Associate Professor Level
    1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
    2. At least three (3) years teaching experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer, or Senior Researcher/Industry experience or equivalent;
  • A minimum of forty eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent; thirty two (32) of them from refereed scholarly journals;
  1. Supervised to completion a minimum of four (4) postgraduate students, including at least one (1) doctoral student, as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
  2. Attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
  3. Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
b) Requirements for the position of full-time academic staff at Senior Lecturer level
  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
  2. At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience;
  • A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent; at least twenty-four (24) of them from refereed scholarly journals;
  1. Supervised to  completion  at  least  three  (3)  postgraduate  students  as  a  Lecturer  or equivalent;
    1. Attracted research funds as a lecturer or equivalent;
    2. Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
c)  Requirements for the position of full-time academic staff at Lecturer level
  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a Master’s degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university; and be registered or registrable with the relevant professional body (where applicable);

OR

Have  a  Master’s  degree  in  the  relevant  field  (in  special  cases)  from  accredited  and recognized university with at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level;

  1. Have a minimum of twenty-four (24) publications points; at least sixteen (16) of them from refereed journal papers;
  • Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
d) Requirements for the position of full-time academic staff at Tutorial Fellow level
  1. An earned Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification from an accredited and recognized university in the relevant field;
  2. Be registerable  for  a  Doctor  of  Philosophy  (PhD)  or  equivalent  Doctoral  degree qualification;
  3. Be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
e)      Requirements for the position of Director Resource Mobilization  Grade 15

Responsible to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Finance and Development, the Director Resource Mobilization shall have the following functions:

  1. To develop, implement, evaluate and review the Resource Mobilization
  2. To solicit  funds  from  all  sources  including  Multilateral  and  Bilateral  sources, international and local sources both public and
  • To consider and enter into agreements with any donor or company for the furtherance of the objectives of the
  1. To coordinate all the income generating activities of the University
  2. To prepare all the budget allocations
  3. To monitor and evaluate the performance of all the income generating activities.
  • To license, patent, franchise, brand and issue Assignment Rights in respect to all the products
  • To undertake resource mobilization activities as may be referred to by the University Management Board, Senate or the Council from time to time
  1. To prepare and present financial statements and reports to the Management
  2. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chairman
f)       Requirements for the position of Senior Accountant Grade 13
  • D. degree in Finance/Accounting or its equivalent
  • Six (6)  years  experience  in  financial  management,  three  (3)  years  at  the  level  of Accountant I or
  • Be a member of a recognized Professional Accounting body with a current practising
  • Have outstanding professional competence and handson experience in Financial Management.
  • Demonstrated high administrative
  • Must be computer literate (Accounting packages).with detailed understanding of ERP
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity

OR

  • Holders of MBA (Finance/Accounting option) or its equivalent and CPA (K).
  • Nine (9) years experience in financial management, three (3) at the level of Accountant I or
  • Be a  member  of  a  recognized  Professional  Accounting  body  with  a  current  practising
  • Have outstanding professional competence and hands on experience in Financial Management and
  • Demonstrated high administrative
  • Must be computer literate (Accounting packages) with detailed understanding of ERP
g)      Requirements for the position of Maintenance Officer Grade 11
  1. Masters Degree in Construction Management.
  2. Must be a full member of a professional body in Construction Management

OR

Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of working experience

  • Must be a full member of a professional body in Construction Management
  • Must be computer illiterate
h)     Requirements for the position of Plumber, Mason and Electrician Grade 3/4
  1. At least KCSE level of education with a minimum of D+ (plus).
  2. Must be in possession of relevant Government trade test grade I
  3. Must have at least three years experience in grade II
i)        Requirements for the position of Assistant Transport Officer Grade 7/8
  1. Bachelor degree in transport management or its equivalent
  2. At least three (3) years experience in transport management in a large organisation at the level of Transport Assistant grade 5/6
  3. Valid driving licence
  4. Must be computer literate OR
  5. Diploma in transport management or its equivalent
  6. At least six (6) years experience in transport management in a large organisation at the level of Transport Assistant grade 5/6
  7. Valid driving licence
  8. Must be computer literate
