GRETSA UNIVERSITY 11TH GRADUATION LIST FOR 2020
The 11th Graduation Ceremony for conferment of degrees and award of diplomas and certificates by the Chancellor of Gretsa University will be held on Thursday 17th December 2020 starting at 10:00 am. Due to the Health precautions, the ceremony will be conducted virtually.
Consequently, there shall be no assembly of graduands at the University’s Graduation Square. Graduands and their families, relatives and friends are therefore expected to follow the LIVE proceedings of the graduation ceremony that will be streamed on the following official university platforms from home:

The challenges brought by the Global health pandemic pandemic should not entirely eliminate the celebrations expected to mark this important milestone in your life. You need to wear your graduation gown as you celebrate with family and friends and record the occasion for posterity.
The graduation ceremony will be presided over by the University Chancellor, vice chancellor and other council members will award Diplomas and Certificates and confer Degrees.
The information regarding preparations for the ceremony is detailed below:
Examination Results
The results of the examinations are available from the offices of the respective Deans of Faculties/Schools during working hours.
List of Graduands
The list will be posted as soon as it is approved. Continuously keep on confirming with your Department if you have met the Graduation requirements.
Any potential graduand whose name is not on the list is expected to visit his/her School immediately.
Verification Of Academic Records And Order Of Names
To enhance accuracy, prospective graduands are required to verify the correctness of their names with the Academic Registrar by Friday 11th December 2020 and countersign the graduands schedule available at the Academic Registrar’s Office. The order of the names as countersigned will be the order in which they shall appear in the final certificate.
Please note that alteration of names will not be accepted after certificates and transcripts have been printed.
Rehearsal
Graduands who will he participating in the Graduation Ceremony MUST attend the rehearsals on Thursday, 19th September, 2019 at 9.30 a.m. at the Graduation Pavilion. Graduands attending the rehearsal must he punctual and in lull Academic Attire.
Fees & Clearance
All prospective degree, diploma, certificate and foundation certificate graduands should confirm their graduation status with their respective Heads of Schools immediately and thereafter ensure that they have cleared with the University by completing the official clearance forms and having it duly signed by the respective University officers by Wednesday 16th December 2020. The clearance forms are available at the Academic Registrar’s Office at the Main Campus in Thika.
All prospective graduands should pay the following graduation charges by Wednesday 16th December 2020 to be allowed to clear for the graduation.

Please note that graduands graduating in more than one academic programme will be required to pay an additional convocation fee of Kshs 2,500 for the extra programme.
Payments should be made through any of the following two options:

Note: include student’s full names and university registration number. Bank slips to be remitted to the university accountant for receipting).

In both instances, ensure to collect your official payment receipt from the University Cashier once the transaction is completed.
Please note that only prospective graduands who will have fully cleared University fees and applicable graduation charges will be allowed to graduate.
Academic Attire
Graduands who wish to hire the graduation gown for their personal use during the graduation ceremony will be allowed to do so provided they have cleared with the relevant departments.
Gowns may be collected from Wednesday 9th to Wednesday 16th December 2020. Please note that no gown will be given out on the graduation day.
The hired gowns MUST be returned to the University on or before Friday 15th January 2023 at 5.00 pm. Delay in returning the gown will attract a daily surcharge of Ksh. 500/. Graduands wishing to purchase the gown may do so by paying Ksh 10,000 and presenting the receipt to the Examinations and Timetabling Office.
Graduation Ceremony Brief
There shall be a virtual brief to all cleared graduands on Wednesday 16 December 2020 at 10:00 am intended to inform the graduands on how the actual virtual graduation ceremony will be conducted. All cleared graduands will be forwarded the necessary session link through their email addresses and phone numbers to enable their participation.
Punctuality & Invitation Cards
The Live streaming of the graduation ceremony will commence at 10:00 am.
