This article contains information on the Karatina University, KaRu Graduation Application & Requirements for October 2019. Therefore, prospective graduands are advised to follow the application process duly for a successful graduation.
For graduation from any program of study at the Karatina University, KaRu either at the first degree or second-degree level, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful graduation.

KARATINA UNIVERSITY GRADUATION REQUIREMENT FOR DECEMBER 2020
This is a reminder to all prospective postgraduate graduands as follows:
- To confirm examination results and seek any clarifications from respective Dean of School and Head of Department.
- To have submitted final bound thesis and cleared with all Departments by 15th December, 2020 for inclusion in the graduation list.
- It is a requirement to confirm accuracy and order of names. Refer to communication KarU/ ARSA/1/ VOL. 6 dated 5th February 2020.
- To make reference to among others, sections of University Rules and Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies on submission of final thesis and Requirements for Graduation that state;
FINAL SUBMISSION OF THESIS
- Once a student has incorporated into the project/thesis all the recommendations of the Board of Examiners, the Main Supervisor shall check the thesis and then write to the Dean of School, certifying that all corrections and amendments suggested by the Examiners have indeed been incorporated. This communication shall be copied to the Director, BPS and respective Coordinator of School and Head of Department. The thesis should be prepared according to the format approved by Senate.
- The Six hard copies shall be bound in boards with black for Masters and Green for PhD buckram . The bound copies shall be lettered in gold on the spine with the following information : Name of the student (surname and Initials), degree and the year of final submission, in that Soft copy shall be submitted to BPS in PDF format (Portable Document Format).
- The six hard bound copies signed by supervisors and 3 CD (soft) copies (1 CD to go to the library, department and BPS) shall be submitted to the coordinator together with a certificate from the University Librarian indicating that the six bound thesis have been bound according to the format of Karatina University.
- One copy of the bound project/thesis shall be deposited in the University Library and one in the relevant department/School one soft copy in the Board of Postgraduate Studies and one copy each shall be given to the Library and the School.
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
- Graduation timelines shall be released within the academic year. All students shall be expected to adhere to the set timelines.
- For conferment of a University degree of Masters or PhD, the student must have satisfactorily fulfilled all academic requirements of the curriculum in which he/she is enrolled.

- In consultation with the respective Head of Department, the student must periodically review his/her progress towards meeting graduation requirements and seek the resolution of any issues about the same.
- The student must have paid all outstanding fees to the University
- The student must have completed the clearance form and submitted it to the office of the Registrar (ARSA) on or before the latest date for applying for graduation as indicated in the University
- Any change of name from the respective admission letter must be supported with an AFFIDAVIT.
