The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women and Constables which is scheduled to take place in 2021.
Every year the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) publishes vacant position for interested & qualified Kenyan citizens to apply for. This year is not an exception. Therefore the vacant positions are listed below, together with their requirements, roles and qualifications.
VACANT POSITIONS, ROLES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS IN THE KENYA WILDLIFE SERVICES (KWS)
KWS RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
The prospective candidates willing to join the KWS MUST meet the following conditions and academic qualifications:
- Interested applicants are expected to be citizens of Kenya
- The minimum requirement for the application was a KCPE certificate and being in the 18 to 35 years age bracket.
- Applicants must be physically and mentally fit
- Understanding of the local environment, languages and culture of the people
- Relevant training, skills and competency will be an added advantage
- Basic knowledge in wildlife matters will be an added advantage
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Early warning for the resolution of human-wildlife-conflict
- Community awareness creation about wildlife
- Liaise with the officer in charge for intervention in human-wildlife conflict
- Maintenance of game proof barriers
- Monitoring and reporting of wildlife movement within the area/community
- Reporting incidence of wildlife in distress
- Carry out conservation outreach, including wildlife behavior, values, movements, etc.
- Carry out invasive species management and control
- Assist in fire management, national park cleanups and beach management
- Maintenance of bandas, guest houses, nature trails, signages and roads
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE KENYA WILDLIFE SERVICE (KDF) RECRUITMENT
- Collect application forms from the nearest KWS Park/Station or download the same from KWS website: www.kws.go.ke
- Fill the forms and attach copies of national ID card, academic certificates and any other relevant testimonials
