    Kenya

A county is a geographically defined area that is typically divided for political purposes. Counties can vary in size and separate a state into different areas, similar to a province. However, there are many cities and towns that fall within a given county, and they are all tied together by political leadership.

After the 2010 constitution was promulgated, Kenya was divided into 47 counties for easy administration. Each county is grouped according to the former province which they are part of. However, all the counties in Kenya are led by a governor and a deputy governor. They form a county government together. With this, Kenya county codes are numbered from 001 to 047.

Most Kenyans in fact do not know the counties by codes but rather by names. That is why this article has compiled all the counties by their names and as well as their respective codes. Below is a comprehensive list of counties in Kenya and their codes.
