Mulungushi University, MU Zambia Lecture Timetable - 2022/2023 First Semester

The Ministry of Education in its communique on Tuesday, 29th September 2020 allowed for phased reopening of Universities and Tertiary institutions. The Ministry was categorical that the reopening shall be in strict adherence to the health guidelines set by the Ministry of Health to combat CURRENT HEALTH pandemic.

The Murang’a University of Technology, MUT wishes to inform all first year students that the commencement dates of the 2020/2021 Academic Years are as follows:

MURANGA UNIVERSITY (MUT) COMMENCEMENT DATES FOR 2021 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to remind ALL STUDENTS to take note of the following:

  • That Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) shall open for the January – April 2021 semester on Monday, 4th January, 2021 at 8. 00 A.M. Lectures shall commence on Tuesday, 5th January, 2021.
  • That the following cohorts of students will report on Monday, January 4th, 2021 for their lectures:
    • Year 3, Semester I (2018/2019 Cohort)
    • Year 1, Semester II (2020/2021 Cohort)*

*(Note that the new 1st year students (2020/2021 cohort) who were not able to report in October, 2020, or deferred their studies, are allowed to report on Monday, 4th January, 2021 to start their studies)

  • That reporting and registration for lectures by those who will report for the January – April, 2021 semester has begun on the University website (mut.ac.ke). Students are supposed to report online via the portal under online reporting and also register the units online under unit registration. Note that you must have paid all the fees for you to be able to register units online.
  • That the students who have completed their Year 3, Semester II will proceed on Industrial Attachment from Monday, January 4th, 2021 (except those undertaking Bachelor of Education Science).
  • That the students who have completed their Year 3, Semester II of Bachelor of Education (Science) will proceed for Teaching Practice from Monday, January 4th, 2021.
  • That the students who have completed their Year 2, Semester II of Bachelor of Science Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Bachelor of Technology Electrical and Electronics Engineering shall report to the University on Monday, January 4th, 2021 for Internal Attachment.
  • That students proceeding on Industrial Attachment from Monday, January 4th, 2021 should download log books from the University website (mut.ac.ke). However, Teaching Practice handbook shall be emailed to respective students proceeding on Teaching Practice.
  • That those proceeding on Industrial Attachment, Teaching Practice and Internal Attachment from January, 2021 should ensure they  pay the  requisite fee before January, The fee for Industrial Attachment, Teaching Practice and Internal Attachment is contained in the fee structure accessible on the University website (www.mut.ac.ke).
  • That the University fee policy and fee structures for all Certificate, Diploma and Degree programmes have been uploaded on the University website (mut.ac.ke). Please download and discuss the details with your parents and guardians during vacation.
  • That students with fee arrears should clear the arrears before Monday, January 4th, 2021.

MURANGA UNIVERSITY (MUT) SECOND YEAR STUDENTS COMMENCEMENT DATES FOR 2021 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to inform all second-year students that following a request from MUTSO officials, the University Senate has approved that they report to the University for face to face learning on Friday, 22nd January 2023. Classes shall commence on Monday, 25th January 2023 at 8.00 A.M. The teaching timetable is available on the University website; www.mut.ac.ke.

The students are expected to strictly adhere to the guidelines put in place to protect them against COVID – 19, and non-adherence shall not be accepted. These guidelines include;

  1.         Proper wearing of face masks at all times,
  2.         Frequent hand-washing with soap and running water for 20-30 seconds,
  3. Observing respiratory etiquette (use the elbow while coughing or a disposable tissue),
  4.         Maintaining a social distancing of 1 – 1.5 meters
  5.         Seeking treatment promptly when unwell.
