Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Degree Courses

Bachelor of Science Aerospace Science (Aviation Security)
Admission Requirements

• Must have a minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University Senate and have C+(Plus) in Mathematics, C+ (Plus) in English, C+ (Plus) and C+ (Plus) in Geography/Chemistry, OR
• Must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two principals (2 P) and one subsidiary and two of the principal subjects must be any two of Mathematics, Physics or
  Geography/Chemistry or its equivalent from Institutions recognized by Moi University Senate.
• In addition a candidate should have at least Credit Four (4) in English at ‘O’ Level

Bachelor of Science Aerospace Science (Aerospace Logistics)
Admission Requirements

• Must have a minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University Senate and have C+(Plus) in Mathematics, C+ (Plus) in English, C+ (Plus) in any other Business related courses OR
• Must be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education with two principals (2 P) and one subsidiary and two of the principal subjects must be any two of Mathematics, Economics or Geography or its equivalent from Institutions recognized by Moi University Senate.

Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biotechnology
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and at least Grade C+(Plus) in Mathematics or Physics, Biology or Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Physical Sciences, Business Studies, Agriculture, OR
  KACE Division II with a Pass in Mathematics or Physical Sciences

Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension Education
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and at least Grade C+ (Plus) in Mathematics or Physics, Biology or Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Physical Sciences, Business Studies, Agriculture, OR
  KCE Division II with a Pass in Mathematics or Physical Science, a Credit in Biology or Biological Science and a Credit in English or Kiswahili OR
  KACE or equivalent with one Principal, two subsidiaries in relevant subjects (Biology and either Chemistry, Physics, Geography or Mathematics) OR
  A pass in Diploma from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Science Environmental Studies
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and at least Grade C+(Plus) in Mathematics, Biological or Chemistry, English, Business Studies, Agriculture, History and Geography/Physics or Both Or
  A Diploma from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Science in Animal Science
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and atleast Grade C+(Plus) in Mathematics or Physics, Biology or Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Physical Sciences, Business Studies, Agriculture. OR
  Holders of Diploma in Animal Husbandry, Agriculture or related disciplines are eligible for admission

Bachelor in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE at least C+ passes in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry
• At least a C+ in Economics, Commerce, Agriculture is an added advantage
• Diploma holders.

Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, Media & Communication
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of at least a C+(Plus) at KCSE, OR
  Two principal passes and one subsidiary pass at “A” level, OR
• A diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution

Bachelor of Arts in Geography
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of at least a C+(Plus) at KCSE, OR
  Two principal passes and one subsidiary pass at “A” level, OR
• A diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

• Mean Grade of at least a C+(Plus) at KCSE, OR

Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

• A minimum Mean Grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE and a C + (Plus) in any two science subjects relevant to the area of study, OR
• 2 principals and subsidiary pass at A – level in science subjects OR
• KNEC Diploma in Sciences/Applied Sciences or its equivalent from an institution recognized by Moi University Senate.

Bachelor of Science (Applied Statistics with Computing)
Admission Requirements

• A minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE and a minimum of grade of B- (Minus) in Mathematics OR
• KNEC diploma in Applied Statistics or equivalent from a recognised Institution

Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Science)
Admission Requirements

• A minimum Mean Grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE and at least B- (Minus) in Mathematics and C+ in English or Kiswahili

Bachelor of Science with Education in any of the following:
Biology major with Chemistry/Mathematics/Computer Studies/Minor.
Chemistry major with Biology/Physics/ Computer Studies minor.
Mathematics major with Chemistry/Physics/Computer Studies Minor.
Computer Studies major with Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics/Biology minor.

Admission Requirements

• A minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or its equivalent from a recognized institution and a C+ (Plus) in any two science subjects relevant to the area of study. OR

Micro-Enterprise Management
Admission Requirements

• KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) and at least C (Plain) in English and C (Plain) in Maths or Commerce or Business Studies or Economics or Accounting; OR,
• Two Principal passes and One Subsidiary Pass at ‘A’ level plus at least a Pass in Maths and English at ‘O’ level; OR,
• Ordinary Diploma in business related field from a recognized institution.
• CPA/CPS or HND holders from recognized institutions.

Bachelor of Maritime Management (BMM); Bachelor of Civil Aviation Management
Admission Requirements

• KCSE Mean Grade C+(Plus) and at least C(Plain) in English and C(Plain) in Maths or Commerce or Business Studies or Economics or Accounting; OR
• Two Principal passes and One Subsidiary Pass at ‘A’ level plus at least a Pass in Maths and English at ‘O’ level; OR

Bachelor of Arts in Economics
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE and at least C (Plain) in English and Mathematics OR
• 2 Principal passes at “A” Level OR
• A diploma in Development related field.

Bachelor of Sports Management
Admission Requirements

• KCSE Mean Grade C+ (Plus) and at least C (Plain) in English and C (Plain) in Maths or Commerce or Economics or
• Business Studies or Accounting. OR Subsidiary Pass at ‘A’ level
• Two Principal passes and One Subsidiary Passes plus at least a Pass in Maths and English at ‘O’ level. OR
• Ordinary Diploma holders in a business related field from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE at least C+ passes in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry
• At least a C+ in Economics, Commerce, Agriculture is an added advantage
• Diploma holders.

Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ with at least a C in English, OR
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business Related Courses, Public Relations, Education, and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit).

Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ with at least C in Mathematics, a C in English and a C in Business Studies, OR;
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Entrepreneurship, Business Related Courses and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit), OR;
• Second Division with a pass in mathematics and English at O-level, OR;
• At least 1 principal pass and 2 subsidiaries at A level

Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ with at least a C in English, OR
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Business Related Courses and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit).

Bachelor of Science in Project Planning and Management
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ with at least a C in English, and C in Mathematics or Business Studies, OR;
• Diploma in Project Planning and Management, Business related courses or Diploma in any other disciple from a recognized institution, OR;
• Second Division with a pass in mathematics and English at O-level, OR;
• At least 1 principal pass and 2 subsidiaries at A level

Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Admission Requirements

• Minimum of grade B+ (B plus) at KCSE and B+ (B plus) in Biology and Chemistry, B+ (B plus) in either Mathematics or Physics and B+ (B plus) in either English or Kiswahili. A weighted cluster of 40 or above is mandatory. (Using old JAB weighted cluster formula)
• For Kenya Advance Certificate of Education holders, a maximum of two principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and a subsidiary pass in either Mathematics or Physics.
• For Diploma Holders a minimum of credit pass in clinical oral Health or clinical Medicine or BSc or Masters Degree in related subjects if:-
  KCSE graduates have a Mean Grade of B and B in Biology and Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics and B in any other subject.
  ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level system:
  ‘O’ Level – Division II with credit passes in Biology and Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics.
  ‘A’ Level – have at least 2 Principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics ‘A’ level British GCE system: Have an A or B in Biology and Chemistry; and either Maths or Physics.
• For International Baccalaureate (IB): A minimum of grade 5 or above in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, English or Kiswahili subject clusters.

Bachelor of Education (Arts); Bachelor of Education (Guidance and Counseling); Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood); Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education) with the following options: Primary, Secondary, Technology Education
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE or its equivalent OR
• A Diploma in Special Needs Education from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy (Primary Option)
Duration of Study: 3 years

Admission Requirements

A Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.

• Must be a Head or Deputy Head teacher, a Senior Teacher in a primary school or institutions engaged in primary school education; Ministry of Education officials engaged in primary

Bachelor of Education (Science) and Bachelor of Education (Technology Education)
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE and a Mean grade of C+ and above in teaching subjects, with atleast C(Plain) in Maths
• A Diploma holder in Education from a recognized institution

Bachelor of Education (Business Studies)
Admission Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+ and above at KCSE or its Equivalent.
• The candidate must have done Business Studies and scored a C+ and above, in addition the applicant should have passed and above, in addition the applicant should have passed Mathematics and Geography with the grade of C+ and above.

Bachelor of Education (Technology Education); Bachelor of Education (Business Studies); Bachelor of Engineering in Civil & Structural Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical & Process Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Telecommunications Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial & Textile Engineering; Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical & Production Engineering
Admission Requirements

• Minimum mean grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE and C+ (plus) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Physical Sciences and English.
• “A” level certificate with at least 2 principal passes and a subsidiary in Mathematics,Physics and Chemistry.

Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences
Admissions Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C +(plus) at KCSE with a C (plain) in Mathematics and English/Kiswahili, OR;
• Two year KNEC Diploma Credit holders in Information related field, OR;
• IMIS Diploma holders, OR;
• Any other Diploma recognized by Moi University Senate

Bachelor of Science in Informatics
Admissions Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C +(Plus) at KCSE with a C (Plain) in Mathematics and English/Kiswahili, OR
• Two year KNEC Diploma pass holders in Information Technology, OR
• 3 Year KNEC Higher National Diploma in Information Technology related field with distinction or credit, OR
• Diploma in Informatics of Moi University

Bachelor of Science in Media Science
Admissions Requirements

• Minimum Mean Grade of C+(Plus) at KCSE with a C in English/Kiswahili and a C-(Minus) in Mathematics.
• Two year KNEC Diploma with Credit or Distinction in Mass Media.
• 3 Year KNEC Higher National Diploma in Mass Media with a Credit or Distinction.

Bachelor of Science in Communication and Public Relations
Admission Requirements

• Have Mean Grade of C+, with at least a C + in English, a C+ in Kiswahili and a C- in Mathematics, OR
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Public Relations, Human Resource Development, Education, and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit)

Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication and Advertising
Admission Requirements

• Have Mean Grade of C+, with at least a C + in English, a C+ in Kiswahili and a C- in Mathematics, OR
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Journalism, Public Relations, Information Technology and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit)

Bachelor of Science in Communication and Journalism
Admission Requirements

• Have Mean Grade of C+, with at least a C + in English, a C+ in Kiswahili and a C- in Mathematics, OR
• Candidates with diploma qualifications in Journalism, Public Relations, Information Technology, Human Resource Management and any other relevant areas also qualify for admission (With a Distinction or Credit)

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
Admission Requirements:

• Minimum mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE and at KCSE and at least a B (Plus in English OR
• KACE: At least 2 Principal and a subsidiary OR
• A first degree in any other discipline

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB)
Admission Requirements:

• Mean Grade of B+at KCSE: B+ in Biology and Chemistry; and either Maths or Physics; and either English or Kiswahili – A Weighted Cluster Point of 40 and above is mandatory (using old JAB weighted cluster formula)
• A’ Level- Have principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and Maths or Physics. Additionally, must have had a credit pass in English at O’level

Bachelor of Science in Medical Psychology
Admission Requirements:

• Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE: C+ in Biol- ogy and Chemistry; and either Maths or Physics; and either English or Kiswahili.
• A Weighted Cluster Point of 30 and above is mandatory
• A’ Level- Have principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and Maths or Physics. Additionally, must have had a credit pass in English at O’level
• Holders of Diplomas and other degrees: Candidates with a diploma or other qualification with at least a credit pass in psychology or counseling related fields from institutions recognized by Moi University
• Senate MUST in addition, meet the minimum university entry requirement.
• Those with other qualifications: MUST have their results equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)

Bachelor of Science in Physical therapy
Admission Requirements:

• Mean Grade of B- at KCSE: B- in Biology and Chemistry; and either Maths or Physics and either English Or Kiswahili
• A Weighted Cluster Point of 32 and above is mandatory OR
  A’ level – Have principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and either Maths or Physics Additionally, must have had a credit pass in English at O’level OR
• Holders of Diplomas and degrees in relevant area of study must have:-
  KCSE Graduates – Have a Mean Grade of C+ and a C+ in Biology and Chemistry and Maths or Physics and English or Kiswahili
  ‘A’ level – Have principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and either Maths or Physics Additionally, must have had a credit pass in English at O’level OR
• Those with other qualifications: MUST have their results equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)
• Proficiency in English

Bachelor of Science Medical Laboratory science (BSc MLS)
Admission Requirements:

• Mean Grade of B at KCSE: B in Biology and Chemistry; and either Maths or Physics; and either English or Kiswahili.
• A Weighted Cluster Point of 36 and above is mandatory OR
  A’ Level- Have principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and Maths or Physics. Additionally, must have had a credit pass in English at O’level OR
• Holders of Diplomas and other Degrees: Candidates with a diploma or other degrees with at least a credit pass in Health related fields from institutions recognized by Moi University
• Senate MUST in addition, meet the minimum university entry requirement.
• Those with other qualifications: MUST have their results equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC)
• Proficiency in English

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of B at KCSE; B- (Minus) in Biology and Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics; and either English or Kiswahili.
• A weighted cluster points of 36 and above is mandatory OR
• ‘A’ Level – 3 principal passes in Biology and chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics.
• Holders of Diplomas in relevant area of study from Kenya Medical College must have the following grades. Mean grade of C+ and a C+ in Biology and Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics and any other subject OR
• Mean grade of C+ and a C+ in Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics and either English or Kiswahili. O’ & A’ level British GCE system applicants must have an A or B in Biology and
• NB. Interviews will be in both oral and written form.

Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE; C+ in Biology and Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics and either English or Kiswahili.
• A weighted cluster points of 28 and above is mandatory OR
  Holders of qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by Moi University Senate may be considered.
• Candidates with relevant diplomas or University degrees who fulfill all other University entry requirements may be considered.

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health
Admission Requirements

• Minimum mean grade of B- at KCSE and B- in Biology, English and Chemistry and either Physics or math’s and a weighted cluster points of 32 and above. OR
• “A” level: 3 Principle passes in Biology and Chemistry and either Physics and Maths. OR
• Pass with credit in Diploma in Environmental Health from Kenya Medical Training College or an equivalent institution and should have served for a minimum of one (1) year as Public Health Officers. Diploma holders may join year two (2) and Higher Diploma holders may join year three (3) as PSSP students.

Bachelor of Hotel and Hospitality management (BHHM)
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE OR
• Two Principal passes and the subsidiary pass at KACE – ‘A’ Level OR
• Diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution OR
• Higher National diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Tourism Management (BTM)
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE OR
• Two Principal passes and the subsidiary pass at KACE – ‘A’ Level OR
• Diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution OR
• Higher National diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Bachelor of Travel and Tour Operations Management (BTTM)
Admission Requirements

• Mean Grade of C + (Plus) at KCSE OR
• Two Principal passes and the subsidiary pass at KACE – ‘A’ Level OR
• Diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution OR
• Higher National diploma in a related discipline from a recognized institution.

MOI UNIVERSITY, MU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Entry requirements for a Postgraduate degree Programme

A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.

Duration of Programme: 1 Academic Year

Entry requirements for a Masters degree Programme

A Bachelors’ degree or postgraduate diploma from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.

Duration of Programme: 2 Academic Years

Entry requirements for a DBA or PhD degree programme

Applicants must be holders of Master’s degree or any other related programs from a recognized University. Practitioner Experience: Applicants must have management experience of at least three years pre – or – post Masters.
