All new and returning students need to know how to access UFS’s digital systems from the start of the academic year. There is no separate standalone portal for the UFS Business School — all UFS students, regardless of faculty, use the same university-wide platforms. Your UFS student number and password give you access to course registration, academic records, fee statements, assignment submission, and more.
The UFS student portal provides a single point of access to all academic and administrative services. As a UFS Business School student, you will use these platforms to:
- Register for modules each semester
- Pay fees and check your fee balance
- View your semester results and academic transcript
- Check your admission status and download your admission letter
- Pay your acceptance fee
- Track the academic calendar
- Submit assignments and access course materials
- Update your personal information

HOW TO ACCESS / LOGIN TO THE UFS BUSINESS SCHOOL STUDENT PORTAL
- Open your internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
- Go to the UFS Student Self-Service portal: https://myapplication.ufs.ac.za/
You can also reach this portal via the KovsieLife student hub at www.ufs.ac.za/kovsielife/student-self-service - Enter your UFS student number as your username and your password in the fields provided. Passwords are case-sensitive — check that Caps Lock is off before entering your details.
- Click Login. Once logged in, you can access all academic and administrative functions from your dashboard.
New students: Your student number and a temporary password will be sent to you by email after admission. Use these to log in for the first time. The system will immediately ask you to create a new permanent password. Choose a strong password you can remember — a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, at least 8 characters long.
HOW TO RECOVER YOUR UFS BUSINESS SCHOOL STUDENT PORTAL FORGOTTEN PASSWORD
- On the login page, click the “Forgot your username/password?” link.
- You will be directed to the official UFS ICT Support page at https://www.ufs.ac.za/kovsielife/ICTSS
- Follow the prompts to verify your identity — either through security questions or an email-based verification process — and set a new password.
- If your account has been locked after multiple failed login attempts, or if the self-service reset does not work, contact the UFS Service Desk directly:

Browser issues? If the portal is not loading correctly or login keeps failing despite correct credentials, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies (go to browser Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data), then restart the browser and try again.
