VACANT POSITIONS, ROLES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS AT CAVENDISH UNIVERSITY ZAMBIA
Cavendish University Zambia has the following lecturing job oppo1tunities under its School of Medicine. Lecturers are responsible for teaching and learning, research and service to the university and society. At Cavendish University, lecturers are required to accomplish their duties in teaching and learning in a manner that demonstrates continuous improvement and global best practices in pedagogy and digital ski lls and tools. All lecturers are encouraged to engage in research activities, attend conferences and publish their research findings in journals and books as appropriate. In the sphere of service, lecturers are expected to carry out administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department or the Dean’s office, and also to contribute to the University’s annual community service initiatives and goals.
1. LECTURER – PUBLIC HEALTH (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- PhD in Public Health from a registered/accredited University
- Master’s Degree in Public Health from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 5 years in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word
- Rich research and publication portfolio
- A history of grantsmanship will be an advantage
2. LECTURER IN INTERNAL MEDICINE (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Must have MB ChB or BDS from a registered/accredited University
- Master of Medicine (MMed) or Fellowship in Internal Medicine Degree from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1 year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Work environment
- Within the context of CUZ School of Medicine, to be based at the Clerkship site outside Lusaka.
3. LECTURER IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Must have MB ChB or BDS from a registered/accredited University
- Master of Medicine (MMed) or Fellowship in Obstettics and Gynaecology Medicine Degree from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1 year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Work environment
- Within the context of CUZ School of Medicine, to be based at the clerkship site outside Lusaka.
4. LECTURER IN SURGERY (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Must have MB ChB or BDS from a registered/accredited University
- Master of Medicine (MMed) or Fellowship in Surgery Degree from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1 year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Work environment
- Within the context of CUZ School of Medicine, to be based at the Clerksrup site outside Lusaka.
5. LECTURER IN PAEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Must have MB ChB or BDS from a registered/accredited University
- Master of Medicine (MMed) or Fellowship in Paediatrics and Child Health Degree from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not Jess than 1 year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Work environment
- Withjn the context of CUZ School of Medicine, to be based at the Clerkship site outside Lusaka.
6. LECTURER – HUMAN ANATOMY (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Human Anatomy from a from a registered/accredited University
- Bachelor’s Degree in a medical or related field from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1years in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
7. BIOLOGY LECTURER (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences from a from a registered/accredited University
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
8. LECTURER – HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Human Physiology from a registered/accredited University
- Bachelor’s degree in a medical or related field from a registered/accredited University
- Teaching/research experience of not less than 1year in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written

9. LECTURER- NURSING (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in any Nursing specialty from a registered/accredited University
- BSc in Nursing from a registered/accredited University
- Diploma in Registered Nursing
- An additional Diploma in any of the following areas will be an added advantage
- Midwifery
- Theatre
- Public Health
- Mental Health
- Should possess valid practicing licenses from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of of Zambia.
- Two years’ recent professional experience as a Registered Nurse
10. NURSE TUTORS (2 POSITIONS) Qualifications
- BSc in Nursing from a registered/accredited University
- Diploma in Registered Nursing
- An additional Diploma in any of the following areas will be an added advantage
- Midwifery
- Theatre
- Public Health
- Mental Health
- Should possess valid practicing licenses from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of of Zambia.
- Two years’ recent professional experience as a Registered Nurse
11. CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS (3 POSITIONS) Qualifications
- Diploma in Registered Nursing
- A Diploma in any of the following areas will be an added advantage
- Midwifery
- Theatre
- Public Health
- Mental Health
- Should possess valid practicing licenses from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia
- Two years’ recent professional experience as a Registered Nurse and preferably in teaching.
12. LABORATORY SCIENTIST (1 POSITION)
We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who is innovative, enthusiastic, a good networker and collaborator, a team player and can run a commercial laboratory.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from a registered/accredited University
- Bachelor ‘s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from a registered/accredited University
- Work experience as a Biomedical Scientist/research experience of not less than 3 years in a reputable institution
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written
- Computer literate – Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
13. SKILLS LAB TECHNICIAN (1 POSITION) Qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Sciences or Registered Nursing
- Must have worked in a hospital set up for not less than 3 years
- Competent in English communication both spoken and written.
