This article contains information on the University of Lusaka, UNILUS registration process and guidelines for new and continuing students thereby preparing them for the semester of the 2026 academic year.

The registration is done via the online registration portal, which is a self-help/online system. The system is accessible off-campus for convenience. You don’t have to stand in long queues and don’t have to come to campus. This guide will enable you to process your online registration successfully.
Follow the steps that are provided to make this process an easy and exciting process.

Important (2026): The entire registration process is conducted online and is gated by a minimum 50% tuition deposit. No student — fresher or returning — can complete registration without first clearing at least 50% of their total tuition fees. After making your deposit, you must wait 48 hours before attempting to register on the portal, to allow the university’s financial system to verify and process your payment.

UNILUS REGISTRATION GUIDELINES AND PORTAL

Guidelines

All Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Medical Students are to note that registration for the 2026 Academic Year is conducted entirely online. Students are therefore advised to do the following:

• Pay a minimum of 50% of your tuition fees online or via bank transfer before attempting to register. Refer to the official 2026 fee schedules on the university website for the exact amount for your programme.
• Do semester registration online by visiting the University’s Student Information System (SIS) portal and selecting the Student Registration option.
• Send an email with your portrait attached to: id@unilus.ac.zm in order to have your Student Identity Card prepared.
• Students who experience challenges with semester registration (e.g. those with exemptions and others who may have deferred their studies) are advised to send copies of their proof of payment to the following email addresses so that their semester registration can be facilitated: correspondence@unilus.ac.zm | academic@unilus.ac.zm | registrar@unilus.ac.zm

Registration Process For Freshers

Steps for registration:

1. Go to the official Student Information System (SIS) portal. As a new student, you will not have a pre-existing username and password. Use the dedicated Password Recovery link on the student portal to create your initial login credentials.
2. Once logged in, go to the Student Registration Portal at https://portal.unilus.ac.zm/register/study. Your Quotation will appear. (If a student has exemptions, registration should be done through the academic office.)
3. Deposit a minimum of 50% of the fees shown on your quotation at any of the banks or via the electronic payment options shown on your quotation.
4. Click the printer icon on top of the quotation to print the quotation.
5. Make sure that you provide your STUDENT NUMBER to the cashier at the bank when depositing.
6. Return to the Student Registration Portal after 48 hours and click on (Click to register) on your quotation under TOTAL FEES. The 48-hour wait is required to allow the university’s financial system to verify and process your payment.
7. After successful registration, collect your student ID card from the ID department. You may also send your portrait photo to id@unilus.ac.zm to have your card prepared remotely.
8. Create your Student Portal account to view your registration details and access the E-Learning Management System (LMS) at www.unilus.ac.zm/lms/.

Registration Process For Returning Students

Steps for registration (Do the following after semester results have been published):

1. Log in to your UNILUS student portal using your existing username and password. If you have forgotten your password, use the recovery link on the student portal.
2. Under the student menu, click on the first tab — (July or January) Semester Registration.
3. Select your mode of study.
4. Your Quotation will appear if you have no outstanding balance. The system requires a minimum of 50% of the semester fees to be cleared before registration can proceed. If your current payments do not meet this threshold, you will need to make an additional payment before continuing.
5. Click the printer icon on top of the quotation to print the quotation.
6. Deposit the fees at any of the banks shown on your quotation or via the electronic payment options available.
7. Make sure that you provide your STUDENT NUMBER to the cashier at the bank when depositing.
8. Go back to your student portal after 48 hours and click on (Click to register) on your quotation under TOTAL FEES.

NOTE:

1. Kindly contact your School Registration Officer and Head of Department if some specific courses for registration cannot be found on your portal. In case of any difficulties in accessing your portal, kindly contact the Directorate of Academic Affairs.
2. Students of the School of Public Health should contact the School Officer or the School Registration Officer for all other inquiries.

Visit the official UNILUS Student Registration Portal (portal.unilus.ac.zm). You can register using any device.
