The esteemed Dutkiewicz Family Trust is inviting applications for a limited number of scholarships for those intending to embark on their master’s journey in energy research. Whether you are stepping into the 1st or 2nd year of your Master’s studies, this is your chance to secure funding that can assist in propelling your academic and research aspirations in this sector.
Dutkiewicz Family Postgraduate Scholarship Eligibility
To be deemed eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:
- Be registering for either the 1st or 2nd year of your master’s study in energy research.
- Have maintained a weighted average of at least 60% in the final year of their previous academic qualification.
- Exemplify a genuine and deep-rooted passion for energy research.
- Be a student of any nationality.
Application Procedure
For those who meet the eligibility criteria and are keen to apply, follow the steps below:
- Letter of Intent: Craft a letter, restricted to an A4 page, detailing your intended study and its relation to energy research. Elaborate on how this research will be relevant to your future career.
- Fill out the Application Form: Complete the application form provided, ensuring every section is addressed. This includes personal, academic, and financial details.
- Supporting Documents: Attach the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum of two A4 pages) detailing prior experience in energy research
- Certified copies of all academic transcripts (from universities only; avoid including certificates)
- Certified copy of your SA identity document or passport/study permit.
- An academic reference letter from someone who has either taught or supervised you during your previous degree(s)
- For 2nd year master’s applicants, provide an official report of results from the first year and a detailed work plan for the upcoming year.
- Submission: Combine all documents into a single PDF and email it to fellowships@uct.ac.za. Ensure the email subject is “Dutkiewicz App: Your first and last name”.
Application Date
The final date to submit applications is November 10, 2023. It’s imperative to note that any applications arriving after this date, or those that are incomplete, will unfortunately be disqualified.
