Application for the Mount Kenya University, MKU Chancellor’s Scholarship Applications – 2020/2021 Entry is now open by the Mount Kenya University Foundation for all outstanding Students at the Mount Kenya University in Kenya.

Mount Kenya University through the Foundation is glad to advertise for Chancellor’s scholarship opportunities to ALL students studying at Mount Kenya University across all its campuses in Kenya. This is a partial scholarship meant to supplement the recipients’ tuition fees. Scholarship valued at Ksh. 600, 000 will be on offer.

Mount Kenya University Foundation is the charitable arm of Mount Kenya University. The Foundation has embarked on mobilizing resources in support of scholarships to academically outstanding and needy students. In this regard, the Foundation has launched a 2-year scholarship programme dubbed “Ubuntu Fund” which is an African philosophy of the belief in the universal bond of connectedness. Through the generous contribution of the Chancellor, Mount Kenya University, Prof. John Struthers to the Ubuntu Fund, MKU Foundation is pleased to announce the first Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund.

The Scholarships are one of the most prestigious scholarships in Kenya. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

MKU CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Scholars are selected on the following criteria:

  • Scholarship is open to ALL students studying at Mount Kenya University irrespective of their Nationality EXCEPT for the ones who were recently awarded MKU Internal Scholarship 2019.
  • The mode of study MUST be REGULAR.
  • The student MUST demonstrate good academic records.
  • The student MUST demonstrate that he/she is needy.
  • The student MUST have a good disciplinary record.
  • The student MUST be in session in January – April and May – August 2022/2023 semesters.
  • Applicants MUST have completed ONE ACADEMIC YEAR at MKU

NOTE: The decision of the University Scholarship Vetting Committee will be final.

MKU CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

To apply for the scholarship, interested students should pick an application form from Mount Kenya University Foundation Office (MKU Thika Campus, Alumni Plaza, 9th Floor, Room 916) or download the form here
Application documents in both hard and soft copies should be submitted by Friday, 31st January, 2020 at the close of business. Duly filled application forms should be submitted as BOTH soft and hard copies as follows:

  1. Soft Copy
    The applicant must scan and produce electronic copies of the application form and the necessary attachments, convert them to PDF and mail to mkufoundation@mku.ac.ke with the Subject: CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP 2020
  2. Hard Copy
    The application letter should be addressed as follows;
