We are happy to present to you information on the Mount Kenya University, MKU Selected Applicants for 2022/2023 Internal Scholarships – Phase 2. The management of the institution has released the names of successful applicants accepted and uploaded their names for download.
Eighty one (37) students have been selected as the Phase 2 beneficiaries of the competitive Mount Kenya University Internal Scholarship Fund that was awarded through the University Foundation. A total of 548 applications were received in July this year and were vetted by the University Scholarship Vetting Committee. The students were drawn from all the schools and campuses. The scholarships vetting committee considered several aspects key amongst them the academic performance of the applicants and the evidence of need. The scholarships were offered under four (4) categories namely;
- Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs),
- Orphaned students,
- Students with special talents, and
- General category.
The call for internal scholarships is an annual programme that is sponsored to a tune of Ksh 5,000,000 through the University Foundation. The scholarship covers a period of one semester. Dr. Peter G. Kirira, the Foundation Director is optimistic that these scholarships will assist some of the needy students to continue with their studies. The Foundation is also establishing an endowment fund that will ensure that the programme is sustainable.
Mount Kenya University is also hosting eight (8) postgraduate students in the School of Nursing & School of Public Health. The students drawn from the Eastern Africa region are recipients of full scholarships under the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship programme that encourages student mobility within African region. Mount Kenya University was selected to host this programme for three years.
Therefore all successful MKU scholarship applicants can check their name below.
