Our vision isn’t just about academic excellence; it’s about nurturing scholars who can redefine the future landscape, address past inequalities, and drive the continued economic and social progression of Southern Africa.
Allan Gray High School Scholarship Eligibility
Basic Criteria:
- Applicant must be a current grade 6 learner during the application year.
- South African citizenship is mandatory.
- Age Limit: Applicants should neither be older than 12 nor younger than 11 years while in grade 6.
- Financial need is a must.
- Academic Excellence: A minimum score of 70% is required for both English and Mathematics, with an overall average of 70% across all subjects.
Entrepreneurial Characteristics:
- Growth Mindset: A belief in personal potential for growth.
- Self-Efficacy: A strong self-belief to achieve set goals.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to positively influence and guide others.
- Opportunity Identification: Recognizing and Seizing Valuable Opportunities
- Curiosity: An innate drive to seek out and learn new information.
- Problem-Solving: Innovative and effective approach to challenges.
Application Procedure
- Initial Submission: Send a hard copy of your application form with all necessary documents, or opt for the online application.
- Foundation Exam: Successful applicants will take a Foundation exam in Mathematics and English for grade 6.
- Interview Round 1: Post-exam, selected candidates will undergo interviews.
- Interview Round 2: Suggested candidates will have interviews at the placement schools.
- Final Selection: Candidates approved by the placement schools will be granted the Scholarship.
- Agreement: A Memorandum of Agreement is signed amongst the Foundation, placement school, and the Scholar’s guardian.
