NRF-Mitacs Globalink Research Scholarship Application Procedure

To ensure a smooth application process, follow these steps:

  • Initiating the Process: South African or Canadian host supervisors need to fill out a webform on the Mitacs website to request an application package. If you’re an eligible student or fellow, you should reach out to your supervising professor for the application package. It’s essential for the supervisors to confirm eligibility with the local Mitacs representative before completing any application documents.
  • Discussion of Project Details: The South African and Canadian host supervisors should discuss the project’s specifics. Participants must communicate with prospective Canadian collaborative partners. Should you need assistance in finding a Canadian host, Mitacs can provide limited support. For additional details, you can also contact NRF representatives.
  • Submission: The application package should be completed online via the Mitacs website. To avoid last-minute hassles, submit your application to the Mitacs Business Development representative at the Canadian university by early November. This ensures that your application gets signed before the deadline.
