NWU Registration Dates and Deadline – 2025
This article contains the North-West University (NWU) registration Dates and deadlines for 2026 academic year. It also contains a link to the institution’s registration information and the registration portal.
The management of the North-West University (NWU) has opened the student registration portal for fresh and continuing students to register their courses for the semester both at the diploma, undergraduate and the postgraduate level. Specific dates and deadlines have been set for the registration as well as the closure of the registration portal. It is advisable to register early inorder not to lose your studentship at NWU as late registration would not be permitted.
The registration deadline or closing date is always a registration submission timeline that is set by the institution for registering courses and modules for the semester. South African schools (universities and colleges) usually have their submission deadline within 2 weeks to 1 month after the student registration portal is opened.
Therefore, it is expected for all NWU students (both new and old) to meet the stated registration timeline as stated below to be on the safe side.
NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (NWU) REGISTRATION TIMELINES AND DEADLINE
Applicants are required to take note of the registration dates below:

| Commencement of ONLINE registration for first-year students | 20 January 2025 |
| Move-in date for first-year students placed in NWU residences | 30 January – 02 February 2025 |
| Registration period of students forming part of day houses **Potchefstroom and Vanderbijlpark Campuses only. |
31 January 2025 (onwards) |
| Mini welcoming day for NWU residence and day house students **Conducted at University Residences and Day House venues. |
01 February 2025 |
| Orientation programme for NWU Residences and day houses commences | 01 February 2025 |
| Main orientation programme commences | 03 February 2025 |
| Main orientation programme concludes | 08 February 2025 |
| Commencement of academic classes | 10 February 2025 |
