The South African Reserve Bank recognizes the importance of supporting the arts. Each year, it offers a Fully Funded Art Scholarship to eligible Fine Arts students, supporting them in their pursuit of academic excellence in the field of Fine Arts. SARB Art Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the Full Art Scholarship, applicants:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be younger than 35 years old.
- Must have achieved an average pass mark of 65 % in their current year of study.
- Must be in financial need, i.e., unable to afford to attend university without a scholarship.
- Must be registered for one of the following qualifications in the 2024 academic year:
- Final year of a four-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts
- Honours degree in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts)
- Master’s degree in Fine Arts
- One-year Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (following a three-year undergraduate diploma in Fine Arts)
Application Procedure
To apply for this scholarship, kindly follow the steps below:
- Visit the South African Reserve Bank careers portal.
- Complete the online application form.
- Submit the following documents in PDF format:
- Images of 6 to 8 artworks produced in 2022 and 2023.
- Academic transcripts for 2022 and 2023.
- Copy of your South African identity document.
- An essay of 250 words to motivate your application.
- Proof of acceptance at a recognized tertiary institution.
- Use the promotional code: SARB ART 24 when submitting your application.
