We are happy to present to you information on the Western Cape Government Education Department (WCED) Application Status(https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za/admissions/login) also known as application tracking for the 2026 academic session and Admission letter as well as the link to check it.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR WCED APPLICATION STATUS AND ADMISSION LETTERS
Applicants are advised to check their admission and application status through the link below
After confirming your Western Cape Government Education Department Admission Status, you can then proceed to WCED Application Portal: https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za/admissions/login to View your Admission letter process. Steps:
- Goto the WCED Admission Portal via: https://admissions.westerncape.gov.za/admissions/login
- Log in with your Application Details, i.e Your username and password or index number.
- Navigate to the Admission Letter section to download and print your admission letter.
NOTE: Admission Letters will be available for viewing on the institution’s Portal.
Confirmation of acceptance of school period:
- Parents must confirm acceptance of the placements at schools on the WCED online admissions system. Login using your ID and password.
- In the case that the learner is accepted at more than one school and you, the parent/guardian, has not indicated your final decision and confirmed by the timeline of confirmation, the first school where the application was successful, as ranked by you, will be activated automatically. All other successful applications will be removed in order to resolve learners
blocking places at schools. - After confirmation date, parents/guardians then only have three days to accept a place if they are offered one at a school.
- In the case that all the applications have been unsuccessful, and the learner/s has/have not been accepted at any school where they have applied, the WCED may be contacted to assist parents to find an available place.
Applications will be available from 4 August – 18 August 2025

Good morning I applied at schools in Belhar for my daughter in 2020 and 2021 for grade 10 they told me there is no space I went to Education Dept. In Parow they told me they let me m iw if there is school available for her and up til date no reply she was at home the whole of 2021 I really need for her to be excepted in a school the reply from the schools in our area told me to come back in January 2022 please help 🙏
I applied for school for my 4year old for next year 2023.It seems I can’t login my WCED accnt using my status the papers that foreigners use. It keep on saying it does not exist whilest I already applied for the schools. Please help me to login.
