The WEIR Bursary Programme is aimed at full-time students who are studying towards an engineering qualification and have successfully completed their first year. Are you eager to be part of an innovative industry leader in South Africa?
Fields of study:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
Bursary funding includes:
- Full tuition fees
- Books and accommodation
- Monthly allowance
- 6–8 weeks’ vacation work per year
WEIR BURSARIES ELIGIBILITY
Entrance Requirements:
- Completed my first year at University successfully
- University results: C average (60%) or higher
- Relevant computer skills (MS Office)
- Planning and organising skills
- Adaptability/ Flexibility
- Ability to cope under pressure.
Bursary conditions:
- The bursary is renewable annually, depending on academic performance
- All bursars will be required to sign a Bursary contract or agreement
- Post-qualification, the bursar will be required to work for Weir for a period equal to the study period funded.
- Please note that preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
