Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) is pleased to announce a call for applications for the upcoming academic year commencing in September 2023. We invite all eligible candidates to apply for our highly sought-after Bachelor programs in Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science.
MUST stands as a beacon of excellence in the field of health sciences and management sciences. We are proud to offer two distinct programs: a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Uganda Institute of Allied Health and Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery, and a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from the Management Sciences-Mulago.

MUST Undergraduate Diploma Entry Eligibility
Bachelor of Nursing Science
- Applicants must be registered nurses or comprehensive nurses or psychiatric nurses.
- Applicants should have passed science subjects, particularly Mathematics and Chemistry.
- They must also sit and pass an entrance examination in Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology.
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science
- Applicants must have a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
- They should be affiliated with Allied Health Professionals Council.
- They must submit two reference reports: one from current employers and the other from the institution where the Diploma training was done.
- They must sit and pass an entrance examination consisting of three written papers in Clinical Chemistry, Hematology & Blood Transfusion, and Histopathology.
- Microbiology, Parasitology, and Medical Entomology paper will be conducted on Saturday 17th June 2023.
MUST Undergraduate Diploma Entry Application Procedure
To apply for these programs, follow the steps outlined below:
- Visit MUST’s application portal.
- If you do not have an account, click “SIGN UP NOW” and submit the signup information. Your password will then be sent to your email and phone number. If you already have an account, proceed to the next step.
- Enter your email address and the password sent to your phone number/email address to log in.
- Select the application category i.e., Undergraduate Direct Entry (for A’level candidates applying to undergraduate degree programs) or Diploma Entry (for those with diplomas applying to undergraduate degree programs) or Graduate Program (for those applying to Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters, or PhD programs) and click “APPLY NOW.”
- Fill in the application form and submit.
- Click “Attach Documents” if you are applying under the Diploma Entry or Postgraduate schemes. Documents to be attached MUST be in PDF format.
- Click “PAY FOR FORM” to generate a payment reference number to be used for paying application fees in the bank.
- Go to the bank and pay the application fee using the payment reference number generated in Step 7.
