The application for the Emergency International Scholarships for the academic year 2022/2023 is now open by Waseda University for all International Students in Japan.
The Waseda University hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2022/2023 Scholarship. The Waseda University has set-up a tertiary Scholarship to bolster capacity, expertise and work opportunities related to different sectors. It is intended for tertiary students at the Undergraduate and graduate degree. Waseda University will give the award amount of 400,000 Yen (1 year) to the successful candidates. Waseda University has allocated Scholarship specifically for the following fields below.
The Waseda University and its community believe in the potential of youth. We believe that access to education should not be dependent on wealth. Education creates opportunities for youth to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to participate in the economy, achieve upward mobility, and change the world for the better for all in it.
For the Emergency International Scholarships, we are looking for students who will be meeting the admission requirements and other eligibility requirements of the hosting universities stated below.
EMERGENCY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
Eligible courses are:
- Undergraduate and graduate degree program in any subject offered by the university.
Candidate Requirements
Eligible criteria are:
- Candidates from any country are eligible to join.
- Applicants must have high school certificates with a good academic record.
- Interested participants must check all the entry requirements
- Non-native English speakers are advised to demonstrate their English language ability by the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE.

Please note you will need to ensure all the below documents are accessible on the device (cellphone, laptop, tablet, etc.) you will be using to apply. The documents include:
- The requirement includes:
- Application form of Waseda University Emergency Scholarship
- For International Students (Prescribed form)
- The application form must be written in Japanese or English.
- Income certificates of all members of the student’s family. (Please refer to (1) in the attached document
- “2 Required Documents”.)
- Students need to submit BOTH of their parents’ certificates.
- If the documents are not in Japanese, students must translate them to Japanese or English.
- Official documents that prove the sudden changes of the family’s financial circumstances.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
- Completed applications need to be submitted on or before December 22, 2022. Late applications will not be considered.
