The application for the Construction Education Training Authority (CETA) Bursary for the year 2021 is now open for all South African students in South Africa.

The Construction Education and Training Authority is inviting all suitable candidates who are in pursuit of qualifications in or related to the construction industry to apply for funding for the 2021 academic year through a CETA Bursary scheme.

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) was established in April 2000 after the promulgation of the Skills Development Act, 97 of 1998. The CETA’s current licenced period expires on 31 March 2030 and the entity’s primary objective is to influence the course of training and skills development in the construction industry by ensuring that all training reflects the needs and requirements of the sector.

The bursary shall be awarded to candidates pursuing construction related qualifications at under-graduate as well as post graduate
levels, inclusive of Masters and above qualifications as per the CETA bursary Policy. Successful candidates will be awarded a bursary covering costs of up to a maximum of R 120 000 per learner, per year, over the duration of their studies to be reviewed annually. The bursary will cover costs related to registration, tuition, books, meals, accommodation as well as any other support deemed necessary for successful completion of the qualification. Any such additional funding considerations will be at the discretion of the CETA e.g. research costs, printing, laboratory costs, fieldwork, etc.
