HORTGRO Bursary 2027 | How to Apply
The application for the HORTGRO bursary for the academic year 2027 is now open for all South African students in South Africa.
The HORTGRO hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the HORTGRO bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards programmes that are aligned to the following listed below:
- Agricultural Sciences:
- Horticulturist (Production & Post-harvest)
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Soil and Water Science
- Entomology
- Microbiology
- Plant Pathology
- Agricultural Science (General)
- Business & Management:
- Agricultural Economics
- Agri-Management
- Marketing Specialist
- Project Management
The HORTGRO bursary programme assists by supporting financially deserving students with great academic potential to take their first steps in achieving their dreams and obtaining their undergraduate degree. HORTGRO bursary programme aims to fund academically deserving students who do not have the financial means to study full-time towards a first degree.

HOW TO APPLY FOR HORTGRO BURSARY
Follow these steps to apply:
- Visit the official application portalÂ
- Â Alternatively, if you have the physical brochure, you can scan the provided QR code.
- Â Ensure you have your academic records and personal details ready for the online form.
- Once applied, applicants are shortlisted and presented to a committee for the final selection.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
The application window opens and closes on the same dates every year.
- Opening Date: 15 May
- Closing Date: 15 August
Important Note: Make sure to submit your application between these dates annually. Late entries are typically not accepted in strict bursary programmes.
