National Treasury Bursary Application – 2027
The application for the National Treasury Bursary Fund for the academic year 2026/2027 is now open by National Treasury for all South Africans in South Africa.
The National Treasury hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2026/2027 Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to the following listed below.
They is looking for students who are well-rounded academically with strong performance in specific high-demand fields. Applications are open to students pursuing the following qualifications:
- BCom Accounting
- BCom Economics
- Diploma in Logistics
- Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design

NATIONAL TREASURY BUSARY FUND APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for the 2026 intake, applicants must meet strict criteria. Please note that this bursary is available if you require funding from your second year of study at a local accredited University or University of Technology.
Core Requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be registered for full-time undergraduate studies.
- You must have achieved an academic average of 65% and above in your latest examinations (specifically your 1st-year mid-year/June 2026 results).
- Combined household income must not exceed R600,000.00 per annum.
Note: Preference will be given to high-performing students with top grades. The Treasury encourages applications from women and persons with disabilities.
Stipend Amount and Benefits
The National Treasury Bursary Scheme is comprehensive, covering all major costs associated with tertiary education. Successful applicants will receive coverage for:
- Full coverage of study fees.
- Essential costs to secure your place.
- Funding for student housing.
- Essential learning materials.
- A stipend to assist with living expenses.
HOW TO APPLY FOR NATIONAL TREASURY BUSARY FUND
Please follow the steps below carefully, as post, hand-delivered, or faxed applications will not be accepted.
- Visit the official website at www.treasury.gov.za to download the bursary application form.
- Ensure you have the following certified documents ready to accompany your application form:
- Certified copy of your South African ID.
- Grade 12 statement of results and certificate.
- Your 1st-year mid-year/June 2026 results.
- Certified copies of parent/s or guardian’s South African IDs.
- Salary advice for parents/guardians (or an affidavit if unemployed).
- If applicable: Death certificate if parent/s are deceased, or an affidavit if parent(s) are not in your life.
- Send your completed application form and all supporting documents to: bursaries@treasury.gov.za
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
Do not miss this deadline. Late applications will be automatically rejected.

Note: If you have not heard from the National Treasury within three months after the closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
