Kouga Wind Farm Trade Skill Bursary – 2023

The application for the Kouga Wind Farm Trade skill and specialised Bursary for the academic year 2024 is now open by Kouga Wind Farm for all South Africans in South Africa. 

Scholarship

The Kouga Wind Farm hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2023 Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards, degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to the following listed below:

  • Trade skill and specialized courses

KOUGA WIND FARM TRADE SKILL AND SPECIALIZED BURSARY APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY

Preference will be given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants who are currently registered or have been provisionally accepted to study towards an undergraduate degree, diploma or certificate at a Public University or TVET/FET College.
  • Applicants who want to acquire a trade skill from a training institution or college that offers skills and specialised courses such as Electrical work, Plumbing, Building, Motor Mechanic, Culinary, etc. 
  • Applicants who reside in KwaNomzamo, Umzamowethu, Sea Vista and Kruisfontein
  • Applicants who are under 29 years of age
  • Applicants whose parents/ guardians have a combined household income that does not exceed R350 000 per annual

    Current Beneficiaries Requirements

  • Returning beneficiaries must have passed at least 75% of their 2024 academic year modules
  • Must have completed community service on time in 2023
  • 2021 beneficiaries also need to reapply to be considered for 2023 funding

Supporting Documents for New Applicants

All document copies must be certified copies and must not be older than 3 months. Your documents can be certified at the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office.

  • Copy of South African ID Document
  • Copy of Grade 12 Certificate / Statement of Results (if completed Grade 12 in 2020 or earlier)
  • Copy of Grade 11 Final and most recent Grade 12 Results (if you are doing Grade 12 year in 2021)
  • Copy of full academic record from University/ College (if currently or have been enrolled at a tertiary institution)
  • Letter of provisional acceptance from University/ College

If you are under the age of 18 or if you are 18 and older and STILL DEPENDENT  on the household income of your parent or legal guardian, then this also applies to you.

  • Proof of Income and or confirmation of parent’s employment status not older than 6 months (payslip or affidavit if unemployed and death certificate where one/both parents are deceased)
  • Proof of address (parent’s municipal bill/ Letter from Ward Counsellor/ Affidavit)
  • Certified copy of a SASSA letter if any of your family members are receiving a social grant and are also contributing to your household income. This also applies to your guardian.
  • Parent’s 3 months bank statement

Supporting Documents for Returning Beneficiaries 

  • Full Academic Record
  • Proof of Income and or confirmation of a parent’s employment status not older than 6 months (payslip or affidavit if unemployed and death certificate where one/both parents are deceased)
  • Parent’s 3 months bank statement

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS

  • Completed applications need to be submitted on or before 31 January 2023. Late applications will not be considered.
