Santam Bursary 2026/2027 | How to Apply
The application for the Santam Bursary for the academic year 2026/2027 is now open for all South Africans.
The Santam hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the Santam Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to the following fields:
- Actuarial, Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics
- Agriculture
- Civil, Geomatics, Mechanical Engineering
- Construction
- Insurance, Technical Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics
- Risk Management
The Santam Bursary Programme assists by supporting financially deserving students with great academic potential to take their first steps in achieving their dreams and obtaining their undergraduate degree. The programme aims to fund academically deserving students who do not have the financial means to study full-time towards an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The initiative was established to ensure Santam builds a talent stream and South Africa has the required skills to grow its economy.
SANTAM STUDENT BURSARY APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
Who Can Apply
Students pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Honours degree in:
- Actuarial, Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistics
- Agriculture
- Civil, Geomatics, Mechanical Engineering
- Construction
- Insurance, Technical Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics
- Risk Management
Only applications from South African citizens will be considered. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates.
Bursary Details
The Santam Bursary will cover costs (capped) for the following:
- Registration/Tuition fees
- Accommodation (deposit, admin fees, etc.)
- Learning material (books, e-Manuals, etc.)
- Laptops
- Monthly allowance
- Travel/Transport allowance
Selection Criteria
- The main criteria used in the selection of successful applicants are academic potential and motivation for a career with Santam.
- Applicants must have achieved an average of 65% and above for their undergraduate degree and in the latest examinations (mid-year/June).
HOW TO APPLY FOR SANTAM STUDENT BURSARY
Applications must be completed on StudyTrust’s online application platform before 30 September 2026 to be considered for a bursary for the 2027 academic year. Please carefully read the instructions on the bursary applications page before starting your application.

- Application Season: 01 June to 30 September 2026.
