13. Straightforward Process of Applying For Visa

The UK government has tried to make applying for a visa as straightforward as possible. Regardless, there are a few things you still need to get as a student who intends studying in the country.

Depending on the length of your studies, as an international student, you need to apply either for a Short-Term Study Visa or a General Student Visa called Tier 4 Student Visa.

A Short-Term Study Visa is available for 6 or 11 months for students who plan to study a short language course or take up a short period of research as part of a degree programme. On the other hand, a Tier 4 student Visa is for students who enroll in an academic degree ranging from Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD courses.

There are two options for getting your student visa in the UK. You can apply for a student visa at the UK embassy in your country or you can do it online, on the official UK Government website.

Depending on your nationality, you might need to have your fingerprints and photograph taken at a visa application centre as part of your application.

The Conditions you need to meet to receive a Tier 4 visa include:

  • Be over 16 years old
  • Speak, read, and understand English
  • Have sufficient money to support yourself during studies
  • Have an unconditional offer of study from a licensed university in the UK
  • You will need to pass a secure English language test (SELT). You must meet the CEFR level B2 of language proficiency if you’re studying at a degree level or higher, except for students coming from certain countries.

However, documents required for a UK student visa include:

14. Favourable Value for Money

Naturally, it will be expected that the schools being of global education standards should be very expensive but it is not so. The cost of living and tuition fees are relatively less as compared to the other popular study destinations, thereby making it an affordable option for students.

This invariably implies that the tuition fees are relatively low and affordable, there is a reduction in cost of living, and the exchange rate is favourable. This will, however, help you to save as a student.

15. Freedom to Practice Your Religion & Bearable Standard Of Living

With recent global development to Islamize most countries of the world, it is a great privilege to study in a country where you’re allowed to practice your religion without restrictions.

In the UK, everybody is allowed to practice their religion.

In terms of standard of living, it will be expected that the schools being of global education standards should be very expensive but it is not so. The cost of living and tuition fees and health- care are reasonable compared to the other popular study destinations, thereby making it an affordable option for students.

Another reason to study in the UK is that you can make use of a lot of scholarships and grants available for international students.

CONCLUSION

As a student, being a smart student is not a guarantee for academic success especially if the study environment is not favourable and conducive. There are popular cases where intelligent students have gone to study abroad but ended up performing woefully due to one reason or the other that had emotional and psychological effects on them and in many cases bullying from racists, etc.

This is why it’s advisable to study in a country that accepts and treats visitors with love and respect. This is one reason that has made the UK a good study option. Apart from that, there are lots of other beautiful reasons which have been mentioned in this article.
