Every year G4S publishes vacant position for interested & qualified South African citizens to apply for. This year is not an exception. Therefore the Jobs are listed below, together with their requirements, roles, salary and qualifications.

This Circular is published on a weekly basis and contains the advertisements of vacant posts and jobs in G4S. Although the Circular is issued by the G4S’s Team is not responsible for the content of the advertisements. Inquiries about an advertisement must be addressed to the relevant advertising department.

G4S CAREER (VACANT) POSITIONS, ROLES, REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS 

Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below.

1. Assembly Technician I Midrand

Requirements & Eligibility

Qualification & Technical Experience

  • Minimum of Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 1–2 years’ proven experience as an Assembly Technician or in a similar technical role.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
  • Basic electrical knowledge is required; mechanical aptitude is an added advantage.

Skills & Attributes

  • Familiarity with G4S Deposita Standard Operating Procedures is an advantage.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, MS Outlook, Word).
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to teamwork, cooperation, and compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Must always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manufacturing & Assembly
  • Follow Bill of Material picking slip and assemble Automated Banking Machines (ABMs) step by step with 100% accuracy.
  • Conduct complete testing and quality checks of ABMs.
  • Fault-finding and corrective actions when required.
  • Position, align, and fasten components using appropriate methods (screws, bolts, adhesives).
  • Ensure workstation cleanliness and tool storage according to checklist.

  1. Health & Safety

  • Always wear PPE in the workplace.
  • Attend safety education and refresher programs.
  • Strictly comply with all workplace safety policies and procedures.

Salary

(Note: Salary figures depend on the company’s pay scale and candidate’s experience. Based on industry standards in South Africa)

  • Entry-level Assembly Technicians: approx. R120,000 – R180,000 per annum (CTC).
  • Experienced Technicians (2+ years): approx. R180,000 – R240,000 per annum (CTC).
    (Final offer will be aligned with qualifications, skills, and company grading system.)

HOW TO APPLY FOR G4S JOBS

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING::

  1. A position becomes vacant at G4S:  A position becomes available, which G4S decide to fill either internally or externally.
  2. The position is advertised: The job is advertised on G4S careers portal, internal notice boards. A closing date is also indicated on the advert(s).
  3. A shortlist is created: Applicants who meet the minimum requirements are shortlisted by HR and the line manager. Depending on the number of shortlisted candidates, applicants may be required to do assessments or are invited for an interview.
  4. Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview: The line manager, team member and HR are present at the interview. Depending on the outcome of the interviews, it’s possible to select the best applicants based on their interview and CV.  If there is a “tie” between candidates, further interviews or assessments can be requested.
  5. The position is filled: The best candidate for the job is selected. We make an offer. The applicant then either accepts or declines the offer.
