TVET and Graduate Internship Programme 2026–2028 (24-Months)


Target: Unemployed South African TVET and University graduates

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) invites unemployed South African graduates and TVET learners to apply for the 2026–2028 Internship Programme.
This 24-month programme offers hands-on work experience aligned with the learner’s qualification, fulfilling the practical requirement for higher or TVET education completion.

The programme promotes youth employment, skill development, and exposure to the justice and public service environment.

NB:

  • The placement is once-off. Those who have previously participated in an NPA internship/TVET programme will not be considered.
  • People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements & Eligibility

General (applies to all posts)

✅ Must be a South African citizen.
✅ Must have no criminal convictions or pending cases.
✅ Must be unemployed and not previously participated in the NPA Internship/TVET programme.
✅ Must reside in the province where the internship post is located.
✅ Must submit application on the latest Z83 form (2021 version) and attach a comprehensive CV.
✅ Shortlisted candidates will later be required to submit certified copies of qualifications, ID, and other documents.
✅ Fingerprints will be taken on the day of the interview.
✅ Social media accounts of shortlisted applicants may be reviewed during verification.

Academic Requirements (by qualification stream)

Graduate Interns (NQF Level 6 or above)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3-year National Diploma in relevant fields such as:
    • Information Technology / Systems Development / ICT Support
    • Public Administration / Public Management / Business Management
    • Finance / Accounting / Auditing
    • Human Resource Management / Labour Relations / Industrial Psychology
    • Security Management / Risk Management / Archives and Records
    • Social Sciences / Statistics / Development Studies

TVET Interns (N6 level)

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric) plus an N6 Certificate in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR, Finance, Public Administration, etc.).

Stipend / Salary Range
Category Monthly Stipend (Approx.) Duration
Graduate Interns (NQF 6 & above) R7 142 per month 24 months
TVET Interns (N6 level)** R6 659.25 per month 24 months

The stipend is aligned with the DPSA Remuneration Schedule for Developmental Programmes.
