LEROTHOLI POLYTECHNIC UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

General Admission Requirements

Work through the admission requirements for each level of qualification (eg diploma and higher certificate) to determine whether you will be able to apply for a lower-level qualification related to your interests. Remember to keep in mind your career vision and goals, and how any qualification will contribute to these.

GROUP  A  –  COMMERCIAL  PROGRAMMES

(Three (3) Year Diploma):

Business Management || Marketing Management COSC with:

• Credit (C) or better in Economics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce
• Pass (D) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in Mathematics

LGCSE with:

• Grade C or better in Economics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies
• Grade D or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in Mathematics

Hospitality Management COSC with:

• Pass (D) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in Mathematics
• Pass (D) or better in Home Economics or Food &   Nutrition   or   Principle   of   Accounts   or Commerce

LGCSE with:

• Grade D or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in Mathematics
• Grade D or better in Food & Nutrition or Principle of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies

Office Administration & Management COSC with:

• Credit (C) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in four of the following subjects; Computer Studies, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Economics, Geography, History, Maths and any Science

LGCSE with:

• Grade C or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in four (4) of the following subjects; Computer Studies, Commerce, Principles of Accounts, Economics, Business Studies, Geography, History, Maths, Biology and Physical Science

Tourism Management COSC with:

• Pass (D) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in Mathematics
• Pass (D) or better in Geography or Economics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce

LGCSE with:

• Grade D or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in Mathematics
• Grade D or better in Geography or Economics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies, Tourism

Group B – TECHNICIAN PROGRAMMES (Three Year Diploma):

Architectural Technology || Civil Engineering || Computer Systems Engineering || Construction Management || Electrical & Electronic Engineering||     Mechanical     Engineering     ||     Water     & Environmental Engineering

COSC with:

• Credit (C) or better in Mathematics
• Credit (C) or better in Physical Science
• Credit (D) or better in English Language

LGCSE with:

• Grade C or better in Mathematics
• Grade C or better in Physical Science
• Grade D or better in English Language

Optional for Construction Management

• Must have a Building Trade Certificate plus COSC with Pass (D) or better in Mathematics, Pass (D) or better in Physical Science and Pass (D) or better in English Language

Group C – CRAFT PROGRAMMES (Three (3) Year Certificate):

Automotive || Electrical Installation || Fitting & Machining || Panel Beating & Spray Painting

COSC with:

• Pass (E) or better in Mathematics
• Pass (E) or better in Physical Science
• Pass (E) or better in English Language

LGCSE with:

• Grade E or better in Mathematics
• Grade E or better in Physical Science
• Grade E or better in English Language

Group D – CRAFT PROGRAMMES (Two (2) Year Certificate):

Bricklaying & Plastering || Carpentry & Joinery|| Plumbing & Sheet metal Work COSC with:

• Pass (E) or better in Mathematics
• Pass (E) or better in Physical Science
• Pass (E) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in Woodwork/Metalwork will be an added advantage

LGCSE with:

• Grade E or better in Mathematics
• Grade E or better in Physical Science
• Grade E or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in Design and Technology will be an added advantage

Group E – TEXTILE PROGRAMMES (Two (2) Year Certificate): Dressmaking || Tailoring COSC with:

• Pass (E) or better in English Language
• Pass (E) or better in Biology or Physical Science
• Pass (E) or better in Fashion & Fabrics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Economics

LGCSE with:

• Grade E or better in English Language
• Grade E or better in Biology or Physical Science
• Grade E or better in Fashion & Fabrics or Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Economics
