This article contains information on the University of the Free State, UFS registration process and guidelines for the new and continuing students thereby preparing them for the semester of the 2025 academic year.
The registration is done via the ITS iEnabler, which is a self-help/online system. The system is accessible off-campus for convenience. You don’t have to stand in long queues and don’t have to come to campus. This guide will enable you to process your online registration successfully.
Follow the steps that are provided to make this process an easy an d exciting process.
UFS REGISTRATION GUIDELINES AND PORTAL

STEP 1: ADMISSION TO THE UFS
- Do you have an active KOVSIE student number?
- If YES, proceed to Step 2.
- If NO,
Postgraduate students please click here; Undergraduate applications for 2022 are closed
STEP 2: PREPAYMENT
- Have you made the prepayment for registration for 2023?
- If YES, proceed to step 3.
- If NO, click here
- For information about bursaries, click here
- Remember that the first payment, as well as outstanding fees from 2021 must be paid at least 5 workdays before registration.
STEP 3: GENERAL AND FACULTY RULES
Do you have any questions on the rules of the university/faculties?

If NO, proceed to step 4
* South Campus and Sub-region students: please note that only the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, and the Faculty of The Humanities will be applicable.
STEP 4: CHANGING OF QUALIFICATION
Do you want/need to change the qualification you have been admitted to?

If NO, proceed to step 5

STEP 5: ACADEMIC ADVICE
Have you received academic advice yet?
If YES, proceed to step 6.
If NO, please contact your relevant faculty

STEP 6: REGISTRATION
If you have answered yes to all previous questions, you may proceed to register for your qualification and modules.

It is your responsibility to make sure that your registration details are correct. Print a proof of registration after you completed the registration process in order to check the details.
