Old Mutual Accounting Bursary Benefits
The Old Mutual Accounting Bursary offers numerous benefits, including:
- Comprehensive Exposure: Trainees gain broad exposure in all spheres of finance as prescribed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). This includes areas such as accounting and external reporting, management decision-making and control, financial management, risk management, governance, and taxation.
- Financial Support: The bursary covers most costs, including tuition and accommodation, for the duration of your degree.
- Vacation Work: Opportunity to gain work experience during holidays.
- Incentives: The higher the quality of your degree, the more incentives you will be offered.
- Additional Allowances: The bursary also covers books and general allowance.
The Old Mutual Accounting Bursary is available for students pursuing their degree at the following universities:

Old Mutual Accounting Bursary Eligibility
To qualify for the Old Mutual’s Accounting Bursary, you must:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have passed matric with at least 70% or Level 6 for all subjects, including Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and English.
- Commit to the CA Training Programme, after which you will work for Old Mutual.
