The application for the Sheila Brand Educational Trust Bursary for the academic year 2024 is now open for all South African students in South Africa.
The Sheila Brand Educational Trust hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the Sheila Brand Educational Trust bursaries. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards programmes that are aligned to the following listed below:
- Undergraduate programmes
The Sheila Brand Educational Trust Bursary programme assists by supporting financially deserving students with great academic potential to take their first steps in achieving their dreams and obtaining their undergraduate degree. Sheila Brand Educational Trust Bursary programme aims to fund academically deserving students who do not have the financial means to study full-time towards a first undergraduate degree.
The eligible universities are:
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology,
- University of the Western Cape
- Stellenbosch University.

Please note: Current bursary holders do not have to complete bursary forms again for the next academic year – you only need to complete the affidavit below in order for the trustees to determine whether the bursary holder’s financial position remains unchanged.
Kindly attach the following documents:
- D document (certified copy)
- Academic results for the 2025 academic year (certified copy)
- Academic results for the 2021 & 2020 academic years (certified copy)
- Parents, guardians, spouse or your own proof of income (latest payslips if employed, proof of part time or contract work, audited financial statements if self-employed, affidavit if unemployed, pension slips if applicable)
- If the grandparents act as guardians: parents death certificate (certified copy)
- Current Matriculants: motivational letter by your school principal, stating why the principal thinks you should be awarded the bursary
