We are pleased to announce that the application for the 2024 Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) Bursary scheme is now open.

As the academic year 2024 draws near, we’re thrilled to announce the opportunity for eligible students to apply for the external bursary program for full-time tertiary studies. This initiative, by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), aims to open doors to quality education, particularly for disadvantaged students from poverty-stricken and rural communities. Students with disabilities are also highly encouraged to apply.
DWS Bursary Benefits
The benefits of the DWS bursary scheme extend beyond the financial support. As a bursary recipient, you will have the opportunity to study in the field of Water and Environmental Sciences, which is currently in high demand. Our goal is to equip students with valuable skills that can enhance their employability post-graduation.
DWS Bursary Eligibility
This bursary is open to first-year students studying in 2024, pursuing the following qualifications:
- BSc/BEng in Civil; Mechanical and Electrical
- BSc in Hydrology; Geohydrology; Environmental Management; Project Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental and Water Sciences
- BSc (Hons) in Hydrology; Geohydrology; Environmental Management; Project Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental and Water Sciences
- National Diploma/BEng Tech in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current); Water Care, and Environmental Management.
