Eligibility Criteria
The bursary program is open to South African citizens by birth or descent who meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated excellent academic performance in all modules during their first year of study.
- Maintained an overall average of above 60% and an average of 65% or more for mathematical and actuarial modules.
- Exhibited good leadership qualities and participation in extracurricular activities such as sports, debating societies, chess clubs, olympiads, etc.
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma [NQF Level 07] in Mathematical Sciences.
- Actuarial Science graduate or enrolled in an actuarial science program.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are expected to:
- Apply relevant research methodologies, tools, and techniques to gather information effectively and purposefully.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest actuarial development tools and techniques.
- Execute specialist work, improve quality, standards, and outputs within defined work routines and operating procedures.
- Solve problems proactively, determine root causes, and apply solutions in line with guidelines.
- Complete actuarial tasks and perform data checking and validation work.
- Build a basic understanding of general actuarial insurance knowledge and company-specific knowledge.
